How many miles on your 4.5 gen diesel??

Maybe the hot weather is tougher on batteries than the cold weather ?
That does play some part but we do get lot of 87-115°F weather here in the summer mid June to early September usually 80- 100%humidity with it which sucks but vehicle use has a lot to play with it too, the people daily driving the trucks seem to have less issues from what I have seen which is pretty normal.

Yeah frequency of use probably has a lot to do with it too. Sometimes mine gets run every day and sometimes it’s a week or more between runs.

Any more than 5 days ill usually throw the maintainer on the truck just to be safe.

I’ve got an 08’ Silverado gas burner that I use for short trips or hauling since it has an 8’ bed and only drive the Ram if Im going 15 miles or more one way.
I had an AGM battery in the Silverado that lasted 10 years driven just every now and then.

I typically get 8-10 years on lead acids from my use lol. My wife's car is a 17 on the OEM battery which tests strong still as of this spring when I load tested it.

4-5 years is about all we get around here. Some less than that.

22 Limited Mega Dually.

Just over 18k now. Can't drive it to work daily because I work in a sand/gravel pit.

Thanks for the miles reports, but also include... are those mostly trouble-free miles or have you had any issues?

To expound, yes...mostly trouble free.

Only inconvenient issue was when I was in Montana during some very cold temps hunting and the def tank froze. The sensor never reset after the thaw and the truck went into the 500mile countdown until I was able to stop in at the Ram dealer in Grand Island, Ne. Tech was able to get the tank/sensor reset and responding correctly. No real issues since then. I get minor other things every now and then like the big screen going blank during or after an update. Forced reset usually fixes it. I've had my local dealer perform all service since the first (3) oil changes were included with purchase. I've noticed a very small bubble in leading edge of the hood which I intend to try to get a warranty fix for. Otherwise, it's been pretty solid.

2022 3500 SRW SO. 64k trouble free miles. Tire pressures at 50 front and 35 rear have really helped the ride (the proper pressures per the weight charts for whats actually on the axle). Plan to drive it a long while.
