Ram 2021, 2500 diesel. How/Who had and resolved this issue. Did Ram stand up behind their error?
Hitch is actually 2 5/8” not the industrial 2 1/2”. Because of this error the 2” insert or without insert the shank is never tight and the rv trailer wobbles back and forth, even with the wake distribution bars/sway bars attached

I have a 2024 3500 and I've noticed the same thing, very sloppy hitch fit. It moves around so much that the hitch pin is starting to hog out the pin hole. My 2006 2500, while it was a 2" receiver, fit like a glove and never had this issue. If it matters, my Husky WDH is a 2" so I use a Reese 2.5" sleeve when towing the toy hauler. I'll measure the receiver opening tomorrow after I get home from the dump and unhook my trailer.

2.5" hitch inserts from many vendors vary in actual dimensions, like this EZ equilizer receiver. Not quite a tight fit, so I use this anti rattle bracket, double nutted, works fine.
I have other receivers that are tight and tougher to put on..

Smart, gona order one right now because i notice my BW hitch rattles a bit. Thanks for this !

I have a EZ equalizer 2" shank too. the 2"insert into the 2 1/2 receiver is very loose, both up/down and left/right. I've looked at those anti rattle brackets. my RV trailer is 6,000lbs so will these hold up to that weight? what brand and specs is the one you have. did you buy a new insert to help the bracket. I'll be hauling the trailer 1,500 miles one way and then back again for a total of 3,000 miles. I appreciate any and all help

I started with and 2" Mopar insert to use my old 2" EZ Equalizer hitches. It was always loose in the truck 2.5", as was the rattle bracket.
I double nutted the rattle bracket (cheapo) and that helped, but it started to wallow out the pin hole.
#8 & 10k # +, HT ,- T trailers.

All these do, is bind the hitch so it doesn't rattle. No real load bearing.

I only bought the pictured EZ 2.5" hitch shank, so I could use - bolt up my (2) EZ equilizer set ups otherwise, I would have spent more for a higher quality 2.5" hitch or used the Mopar insert and my favorite 35K #, HD 2" - 2 5/16", Pental style hitch.

Nothing is loose..
The anti rattle bracket helped the EZ hitch work perfectly.

Look for one with double nuts.
Good quality and reasonable price.

Welded the adapter onto my favorite 2” hitch rather than getting a 2.5” hitch, all good. Have another adapter for the rest, they are for pulling the smaller trailers where rattle doesn’t amount to much.
Its the combined slop of the three units that gets bad while pulling heavier, IMO.

No problems using the Mopar reducer with my adjustable height drawbar. No rattling. 8k TT.
