I thought I'd consolidate some of my issues with my 2025 for others to learn from.

First: After trading in my 2023 for a 2025 (largely due to regen issues), I can say a few things.

1. The new transmission and engine are a huge improvement. There's more power and better shifting.
2. DPF issues appear to be a thing of the past. Even with short trips, I've consistently made it to ~ 24 hours before the next scheduled active regen. The regens do take much longer but I don't have any issues as of now.
3. I suspect the new electrical architecture / new software is the blame for many of my software related issues.

Overall, I'm happy with the truck and don't regret the update from 2023 to 2025. Had I been able to wait, 2026 might have been a better move as I'd assume soft of the glitches will be worked out.

Issues:
1. Over sensitive front parking sensors. There are so many false alerts... far worse than 2023. I've disabled the front sensors as it is basically unusable.
2. Next turn not consistently working in the dash from Apple Maps over Carplay. Sometimes happened in my 23 but this is not working far more often.
3. "Warning Light Illumination Unavailable Service Required" error came up once earlier in ownership, haven't seen it since. TSB mentions this one basically saying to ignore.
4. The passenger side retractable step was very loose... found bolts were not properly tightened. Quick fix.
5. "Rattle" when blinker auto cancels... the entire steering column casing has play and makes a noise. "Fixed" by placing a pad under the casing near knee.
6. Blinker will sometimes erroneously activate the opposite side signal after auto-cancel. I can replicate this easily when quickly pulling the wheel to complete a turn. It happens occasionally under normal driving. TBD if possibly tied to #5.
7. Dash once froze after startup and would not display speed or any other information. Resulted in a CEL that eventually self-resolved.
8. Several errors came at the same time (4WD unavailable, blind spot unavailable, traffic sign recognition unavailable, electronic stability control unavailable) ... self-corrected and has not yet happened again. Other users mention a possible fix being replacement of rear speed sensors.
9. Odometer sometimes randomly starts blinking and will not stop until vehicle is restarted (likely linked to a communication issue per google).
10. Adaptive cruise control drops out randomly and says "service required"... reactivating works fine (this one has a TSB to address via software update)
11. Driver side mirror (mildly) squeaks when folding/unfolding - had the same issue on my 2023
12. Random flashing "unlock tailgate to open" error on dash - only happened once
13. Drooping headliner (not correctly attached near sunroof) - had the same issue on my 2023 which the dealer fixed by using adhesive

Frankly, a new truck should not have this many issues. My 2023 was similar but the poorly performing DPF was an ongoing nightmare.

Truck is headed to the dealer in a couple of weeks.

I have a 2024 3500 Crew Cab 4x4 SRW long bed with the HO Cummins and Aisin. It's a basic Tradesman, so a lot of the features that your 2025 has had issues with don't apply. In the 8.4K miles on it I haven't even noticed or seen a regen or have had any other issues. Glad that I don't have to drive a 2025 back to the closest dealership south of our home that I purchased our 2024 at, being it's 71 miles. I guess you just sit and wait for it to be fixed.

#12; Do you have a cover on like the other member? (I see you posted in that thread)
I do. I have the rolling X4S from backflip. It really doesn't put any pressure on the tailgate and I don't see why that would be the cause. Super strange. This one only happened once and it was after parking following a short drive... I didn't even touch the tailgate before or after that drive.

Yeah, it's largely the tech stuff that causes the problem on this one! Really hoping most just require some new software.

I have 2025 3500 have 6,000 miles on it I haven't had a single problem out of it

It seems like a lot of the issues are electrical with the higher trims. I haven't had any problems with my Tradesman yet but I do agree that the sensors are too sensitive. Several times already there's nothing near me and they are going off.

I think RAM has a track record of "sensor" tuning issues.

My truck required the TSB that fixed the lane sense "not sensing" driver torque input to the wheel... and nagging at me to "place hands on wheel" when they were.

Mines the big Horn trim no issues with mine either

I have a tradesman. I'm at 6800 Mi. 2 months of ownership. Not a single issue yet. Fingers crossed. Love the Cummins, love the the zf8 speed. Drives and hauls like a dream. I did do a five wheel rotation, found out my spare was not equipped with a TPMS sensor. Waiting on 5 of them to arrive along with a block heater cable so that I can get the vehicle ready with studded snow tires for our upcoming winter of average 8 ft of snow here in northern Arizona

I have a 2025 3500 Mega Cab Longhorn and just finished a 3K mile trip towing 12K+ and now have 7K on truck and 0 problems.

My Laramie got towed to the dealer Thursday. On Friday, they called and said it needs a new RF Hub which is on national backorder…. I’ve had the acc kick off a few times, the gauge screen froze on the “push button to start” screen even though the truck was running and driving… (I unplugged the batteries and then re attached them and it solved that issue and haven’t had it sense.. The truck had a trailer brake wiring warning coming on when I first got it but a new trailer brake control switch fixed that issue …. Sitting at 7,200 miles…. Really hoping it doesn’t take forever to get the RF Hub……

Just had a 2025 go in for service, there was some TCM and BCM updates.

Saw this on another site

I have the U1412 code come up that sent my entire dash lighting up while on a trip last night. It had done it one other time about 4 days ago and cleared itself on the next startup.
Last night was a new one to me, not only did I lose cruise control, which I was using btw, but I lost communication with the rear TMPS all 4 tires said "air up to" and they were all above the level that it was asking. I then had to use the foot feed to maintain speed and found it quite annoying that my speed was being reported in KM/h now intead of MPH. Luckily the navigation screen saved me from on the fly calculations and told me that 112 Km/h is the same as 70mph... My wife tried multiple times to change the MPH setting in the Uconnect screen and it changes back immediately the first three times, then on the fourth try it stayed MPH... we had a fun time getting home. This mornging all lights still on, after driving about a mile they all cleared but the CEL, which I suppose will clear after a few key cycles as it did prior.

I am following this thread and the one entitled "HELP: 2025 Ram error codes" and will be giving my service dept some hints if they haven't seen this yet. I cannot be without this truck as it is my daily and my only way to haul the horses, which we do weekly.

Thanks for everyone's help following these issues. Please don't be annoyed if I post this same experience in that thread as well so I can get updates for new posts.

I ordered my new 2025 Ram 2500 Big Horn 6.4L HEMI V8 on May 9th. Finally got handed the keys August 27th.

After 2500 miles the check engine light comes on. This was a Friday afternoon when that happened so I couldn't get it into the dealership to check it out. I went and bought a code reader from O'Reilleys to check to see what the issue was. As soon as I plugged the reader in, the light disappeared. Ok, I said no big deal. I drove it more that day and later on Saturday afternoon the check engine light came back on. I didn't think much of it and parked it as it was late in the day now. Sunday I got back into the vehicle and started it up and the light was still on. I tested it again as I was getting ready to head out and the code reader came up with a code of P1524. I wasn't sure what that ment at the time. I hit the road and was wondering about the code. I googled it while I was driving and it told me that I needed to check my oil, oil filter and oil sensors. I drove to the nearest gas station, popped the hood and checked the dip stick and it barely registered any oil at all. I went in and bought oil, ended up putting 4 quarts of oil in my brand new truck. On Monday morning I called the dealership and explained to them what I experienced over the weekend. I asked if I could bring it in to get it looked at and the oil system flushed since I didn't put what was recommended for oil in it when it was low. They said yes, and did everything that they could without finding any issues. I drove away after that thinking I am good.

I'm on my way to work at 5 am and my check engine light comes on again. 3,400 miles later and I knew immediately what the issue was. I drove to the nearest gas station and went in, bought four quarts of oil. I popped the hood, got everything ready to go. I got the code reader out, tested it and it gave me the P1524 code again. I pulled the dip stick and again, no oil. I dropped 4 quarts of oil in the system again. I called the dealership when they opened and explained the situation again. I couldn't get the vehicle to them until Wednesday afternoon to drop off and the vehicle still sits with them as I type this. I called both days to check in on the situation and they told me that they were in contact with the engineers and someone else reference the situation. They told me that they seem to have found an issue with number 5 cylinder and needed to keep it for more tests.

I only have 5900 miles on the vehicle with this issue. Not sure what to expect, but I have barely had this vehicle for 2 months and I have put 8 quarts of oil into it. What am I getting myself into?

Are you checking the oil with the motor on or off? I don't think there was any changes for the HEMI in 2025....very odd issue.

I have a 2025-3500 Tradesman SRW.
Bought it Oct new by Oct 29 hard brake and loss power steering , Def was worried about getting into accident.

Took to dealer University Dodge. In Davie, Florida.
Service guy drove it and it did the same to him.
Less than 800 miles on it.

They said will take 3-5 days to get it checked out.

I asked for loaner they said I have to wait for diagnostic to come back.

Not taking care of customer.

If you have the MOPAR warranty it covers a rental car.

I was checking it with the motor off. I just heard from the dealership and they told me that it was #5 cylinder where they forgot to put a ring in. It caused a leak which damaged the cylinder and now, Ram is sending another engine to replace this one.
