2024 bed onto a 2018 truck swap questions

I’m looking to buy a 2024 take off bed for my 2018 2500. I was told the bed should bolt up fine, but the harness is different and my existing tailgate isn’t compatible. I’m planning to swap the wiring and I’d rather use my tailgate if possible. Can someone give me some info on this? Thanks!

You would be better off with the new tailgate and wire it in there is a lot of work to make the old gates work

this sounds silly, but can I used my old emblem? Is there a way to adapt it? I have custom emblems.

Sometime between 2020-2023 the wiring harness in the tailgate changed and there is now 2 plugs off the harness on the chasis side. There's a couple write up's on other forums about how to properly wire up the older harness but doesn't help with this new style harness.

Sometime between 2020-2023 the wiring harness in the tailgate changed and there is now 2 plugs off the harness on the chasis side. There's a couple write up's on other forums about how to properly wire up the older harness but doesn't help with this new style harness.

They added tailgate ajar warning on the '24 trucks, the extra wires are likely for that switch and do not need to be hooked up

Hi, can you please tell me what other forums you found that information on. have a 2014 and making the same swap as you, but having difficulty finding much about the electronic tailgate release and the electric tailgate lock wiring?
