    Power Wagon Weight Distribution Hitch

Wow, what a great looking truck, man. I actually hadn't considered goosenecks at all, mainly because I figured most gooseneck trailers would be too heavy for the Power Wagon and potentially the gooseneck hitch itself would weigh more than a common WDH, further impeding on the already low...

    Power Wagon Weight Distribution Hitch

Thanks, but both the midweight and the heavyweight WDH options from Weigh Safe have 2" and 2.5" shaft options: https://www.weigh-safe.com/product/true-tow-weight-distribution-middleweight/

    Power Wagon Weight Distribution Hitch

Thanks for the input, I appreciate it. I've seen claims of everything from 8" to 11" drop needed for the stock Power Wagon. Given Weigh Safe only has 4", 6", 8" or 10" options, I figured I'd max it out.

    Power Wagon Weight Distribution Hitch

Hi folks, I am an HD towing newbie trying to solicit advice from people who have towed significant loads with their Power Wagons. For my specific 2023 model year Power Wagon, here are the key towing figures: GVWR (lbs) Payload (lbs) Front GAWR (lbs) Rear GAWR (lbs) GCWR (lbs) Max Trailer...

    Softopper MPG Hit

Glad to hear it wasn't a big MPG hit in your experience. They're thirsty, for sure, but with my literider tonneau I get around 15.5 MPG on my highway trips and frankly that's impressive to me given the size and ride height of these trucks.

    Softopper MPG Hit

Know a lot of us run Softoppers and lately I've been considering getting one myself. I realize it is a ridiculous thing to care about with a PW, but how much of an MPG hit have folks seen after running one? Right now I frequently drive around 6-7 hours in one direction every other month and I...

    favorite tire size?

Fellow NH Power Wagon owner. Going on my 2nd Winter with the PW up here, I've been running ~34" (measured) Toyo Open Country ATIII's since the truck was new. Coincidentally have had the same tire on my Jeeps for years and they're great for snow and ice.

They've been out of stock on the website for quite some time. Jimmy has also been unresponsive over direct message and might be away/indisposed.

Air bags vs weight distribution hitch

Right, I was only accounting for payload in my FBD so I was not actually modeling the third fulcrum. With a third, (the hitch) I do see that raising the height will actually increase the force over the rear axle. However with just two fulcrums (axles), you’re saying theoretically the bags...

Air bags vs weight distribution hitch

Hm, I’m a bit confused on this point of contention actually. Wouldn’t this only be true if your load were perfectly over the rear axle? I actually drew a free body diagram to help talk myself through this but I’m still not seeing how raising up the rear wouldn’t put more weight over the front...

Air bags vs weight distribution hitch

As others have echoed I feel like bags are the primary way to put weight back on your front axle, therefore making your towing experience more stable.

Let’s see your wagons with 35 and 37’s

Had some MPG decrease after swapping to the larger Toyos. Because the kaodtech security gateway module bypass cable everyone recommends is perpetually out of stock, I decided to just grab an AEV ProCal SNAP, since you can adjust a select few parameters on the fly without a laptop or bypass...
