Something isn't right if it's only getting down to 48 degrees. I'd find another dealer, or find a local shop that'll look at it. My 2024 gets down to 38 with no problem.
My 2024 also has R134a and it gets plenty cold. You may have a leak in your system that requires fixing and a refill of refrigerant. I'd have it looked at if I were you.
I am considering this kit too. I also tried to get a hold of Jimmy through PM and no response, so I'm not sure he's even offering those kits any longer. Or maybe he doesn't respond to new folks with low post counts?
However, after thinking about it.. it's easy enough to wire in a kill switch...
