I just sold my 2500. Back to Ford - quiet, smooth, and not so clumsy. I really liked the 2500, but RAM really needs to work the noise, the A/C, and the loose steering. Take Care! V
Obviously if there are this many complaints its not in anyones head. And it has to be in mass as in all at once sent to corporate for them to act. Cheers.
Kathryn, I've already done that. Elevated to "gold" level and nice enough people, but the dealership said the same thing to them. They are aware of it, but corporate had not initiated a fix yet. I don't believe they will unless we go in mass to them with the complaint. Thanks, V
CD - I've said in earlier threads unless we are willing to ELEVATE as a Group of many, Ram is not going to Care. It will take effort and organization. My truck was $55K and its a lot of money for a vehicle that sounds like its hard broke. V
Kathryn - I've done just that, elevated, had a Customer Care Lead handle it with no resolution. Had the truck in multiple times and RAM (Dodge) says there is not a fix for it at this time. Until enough people scream loud enough, nothing will be done. V
That's a way, but I suggest we go at them in numbers and I believe that will get results. Bad press on the web gets attention. I have a friend who has a 2016 and his does not make the noise? I'll keep researching and as you say perhaps we will find out own solution. In the mean time, its a...
Good information. Seems like an easy fix for Dodge/Ram to make a gasket to solve the problem and as I say unless we all get together and go at them in numbers, nothing is likely to happen.
ALL, I have mentioned this squeak/chirp/exhaust before. I took the complaint to RAM Customer Care. Here is what happened: The truck went in 3 times to look at the noise. Dealer said it was normal to which I disagree as it goes away after the truck reaches some kind of temperature, so the...
Eatonpcat - yep, its a shame, isn't it. The 6.4 runs strong after it warms up and stronger than the 6.2 Ford, but the Ford sounds so much nicer! Like I said earlier, we have to pool our numbers and make a case.
YES! $50K for these trucks and more, they should sound like a Toyota! I can't speak to longevity, I can't find data on that, I am suspect though because something is warming up and sealing or stopping the noise. That would lend one to believe that there is a leak somewhere or something is...
Olive, no solution I am aware of - its sickening. Most say its coming from the exhaust. I am not sure as when it warms up, it goes away, only to come back very quickly after the engine cools just a little. Can't wait til winter. Perhaps the seals warm up from the exhaust and it expands them...
Mark, unless you can represent a lot of us, I am doubtful you can do anything. This would need to be a concerted effort by many to get the Corporation to move out...
Hello, I have a 2019, 2500, 6.4, w/1400 miles. It has the same noise. I have taken it to two Colorado dealerships and the first one did not even look at it, they just said it was normal and sent me packing. The second one looked at it and said it was "normal". The 5.7 purrs beautifully...
