I guess the "jaws of life" would be the only option. Technology in this case is getting in the way of itself.

Here is what we came up with, safety wire twisted inside a brake line. It seems to work, however since finally being about to finally put it back on, the truck thinks the tailgate is still open. Smashing my brand new tailgate is the gift that keeps on giving.

I am working with a friend to make a permanent solution, once it is don't I'll share the pictures. Side note, I did in fact fry the latches as well. SMH

Just so I understand, the driver side is a push (up) to release and the passenger side is pull to release? The reason I ask is the technician said the passenger side was a lot more difficult to release. Now I just need to make sure I didn't fry the latches.

That doesn't give me a warm and fuzzy, we tried the same thing and got a humming noise at the latch. Did yours make any noise?

So, does this mean this latch is only on 2024s? If some want to look, I'd like to know what everyone learns. Meanwhile, both my friend and current dealership has this reference come up with my VIN...

I thought that as well, but either I am not doing it right or at the right angle because I couldn't get anything to happen.

That 4 pin connector is what we powered with my friends 2022 and nothing released.

The access panel is off, and there is no longer a manual latch release. There's two additional wires on the 2024 that's not on years prior truck tailgates, and on the 2024 there's two 20 or 22 gauge wires going to the latches.
