I drove a new 2025 Cummins over the weekend, and it had this same issue. Just about a 1" dead zone on the pedal before the throttle kicked in, and then turbo lag after that!
Ok so from the consensus here it wasn't just my imagination - the air suspension really is a nicer ride than the standard springs. But how are they for longevity? Seems like something that would be prone to failure after a few years.
Does it improve the unloaded ride quality at all? I drove a 2026 Ram 2500 Cummins yesterday with the rear air suspension and 20" wheels, and it seemed to ride smoother than the ones I've driven with the 18" wheels and standard coil springs, but maybe it was just my imagination!
TK’s Garage on YouTube lol. He can be pretty controversial, but he’s reported several other stories before anyone else that ended up being true (like bringing back Hemi in 1500). I think he has some exec contacts inside Stellantis or something.
What kind of mpg numbers are you all getting on the new Cummins and Zf unloaded? Most of my driving will be unloaded, and I’m coming from an Ecodiesel which gets 25-28 on trips.
Yeah, I also worried about DEF crystallization as well, with it sitting for so long. The truck I have now has given me zero issues so I’m nervous about getting this new one and it start throwing codes and have to go through the hassle of dealing with warranty claims, etc.
Yep, I've driven the 25s and they are awesome - in fact, I drove this exact truck back-to-back with a 25 a couple weeks ago. The results were closer than I expected, which has got me questioning if the 25 is worth the extra cost for basically a daily driver.
