I did purchase a truck many years ago that had rail car issues, basically metal particles from the rail and the rail car wheels generates a fine dust that will get on the paint. If not cleaned immediately, the dust will rust and stain the paint. But this is a different issue.
Same mud from Mexico. Like I said this ain’t going away. There’s a solution to the issue. It’ll be interesting to see if they handle it or it continues.
Before and after photos. I know there’s paint run but I’m not concerned because location- can’t see it after I put the wheel liners on.
I’m impressed with the POR 15 product at this point we’ll see how long it holds up.
So I spent my New Year’s day, cleaning the truck once again. This crap that comes on these trucks does not come off. It’s not like dirt I’ve ever seen. I used a sponge and a scrub brush on everything under the truck. All it does is smear and when it dries, it looks like a bunch of smeared mud. I...
I am off Thursday and Friday so I will spend my free time cleaning up this truck to a respectable level. I’m going to pressure wash it thoroughly one last time. The rust prevention products I ordered showed up along with glass cleaner to get the residue off of all of the exterior glass. I will...
This is exactly what I have been trying to point out. Thank you for sharing.
These trucks are not showing up in new condition at all. They look like they’ve been through a test facility course.
Sad to hear. And thank you for sharing your experience.
So the dealers are being reimbursed for extra detailing work due to this bulletin? If that’s the case, I hope my dealer didn’t apply for reimbursement.
I simply stated that I will not ask them to do what I think is right. If they wish to move forward and do something, I’ll be more than happy to give them that opportunity.
Yeah, that would’ve probably been a good idea at the time. No one ever brought it to my attention. But I’ll make sure that doesn’t happen to anyone else at least those that are on this site, Will know to look under the truck before taking the keys.
Thanks I don’t expect much from RAM or the...
The delivery of the truck to my house which was 350 miles from the dealer was a guy dropping the truck off to me and handing me the keys and getting in a support vehicle and driving back to the dealership. I didn’t think it was necessary to crawl under the truck. The truck on the exterior...
I feel your disappointment. That’s great that your dealer realized that this was not acceptable and stepped up to the plate.
And you’re absolutely right, The truck frame looks like someone used acid cleaner on It. What I think some are overlooking is that this issue takes the pride of...
Not all trucks are affected majority of their rail yard in Mexico is paved.
Check out this picture. This intercooler is caked with mud like mine.
It’s clear to me not everyone takes pride in ownership of their vehicle on this form as much as I do. And that’s fine. Everyone is different.
In my...
