Got the bill for the hinge replacement - $857. That is a shame and Ram should be ashamed to take even claim the design. On the 1500s it a bolt in piece about $43

Every other day it’s up or down depending on material length. Truck also has a topper on it so the gate comes down for anything that goes in. Also, I was advised that silicone spray should be used because there is a plastic bushing and some lubricants can cause it to deteriorate.

Got a quote from a body shop yesterday of $450 minimum. There is a procedure to change out the piece.

I checked a nothing on hinges. I did get it in for the latch recall some time back.
