On my 2014 3500 the jam nuts were tacked welded, not welded all the way around as a permanate fix. I would assume most alignment I would not have the (simple equipment) to cut the tack welds with a cutoff wheel, perform the alignment and then tach weld the jam nuts again. Alternative solution...
