SHORT TRIPPING WITH NEW 2025 6.7 EMISSIONS SYSTEM

One of the major reasons I don't purchase a newer diesel truck is all the emissions equipment on them. I keep wanting to trade my 06 in, but I do a lot of short trips, and the newer diesels aren't designed for that type of driving. Make newer diesel truck without the.crazy emissions, or make...

Dealer practices: fuel filter with oil change on Cummins?

There are exceptions, and not judging you. . I know what the injuries can do to you, first hand.

Dealer practices: fuel filter with oil change on Cummins?

I too will sometimes look for excuses not to do the work on my vehicles and house. Why should I do it, I can afford to pay someone? But, I look for a way to include family or friends in a lot of the repair work, if only just to hand the tools over and to listen how it's done. Someone has to...

Dealer practices: fuel filter with oil change on Cummins?

Come on guys, you are driving diesels. Learn to change your own oil, as well as oil and fuel filters. This will save you a lot of time and money, plus, you know it will be done correctly. BTW, I change my fuel filter at every other other oil change. I refuse to pay some kid, who couldn't care...

    Block heater not working

That's the issue with most Stellantis vehicles. My Jeep had many fuses seated only partially. Some felt like they were just resting on top.

    2025 3500 cummins zf8 oil leak

Wipe it off, and keep an eye on it. None of my vehicles ever did that. But, not to throw you into a paranoid episode, I have seen leaky rear main seals do that, as well as leaky transmissions. Use a white paper towel, wipe the fluid up, give it a look and a sniff, to see is it is engine oil...

Lifter failure - best path forward?

This is one big roll of the dice. But, if it works, you've saved.a lot of money. If I were you, I would drive it for 100-200 miles, change the oil and filter. Then drive 1000 miles, take a sample, and send it in for analysis. The oil analysis will be the most important thing. Or, just...

    ZF Fluid change on 2019 2500 6.4

I think whoever did the calculations for the "Total percentage of Original Fluid Replaced" got it all wrong. I would be more inclined to believe the "Quarts Remaining to be Replaced" calculations. No mater what, you will always have residual old fluid remaining, unless you did a tranny/TC...

Lifter failure - best path forward?

I would cut to the chase and buy a new Long Block.

How many miles between oil changes, and have you had lifter issues.

Either . I'm seeing if there is any correlation between the oil change intervals and lifter/valve train failures. In newer jeeps there seems to be an issue, and some of their engine are sensitive to oil changes, as.well as oil weights.

How many miles between oil changes, and have you had lifter issues.

How many miles do you drive before changing the oil, and have you had lifter issues? Also, how many miles on your truck?

Do you do your own Engine oil and Filter changes?

I always change my own oil. A Fumoto Valve makes it very easy. It is also fast and much less expensive.

'19 6.4 Hemi, lost coolant and now only clicks at the fuse box

Much more complicated. It sounds like either your water pump blew, head gasket blew, or there was a leak in the cooling system somewhere. This could cause it to overheat. Is there coolant left, any? Where was it lost from? I would take it to another mechanic and have them scope the cylinders...
