I like this thread. I will try and take some pictures of my trailer for my Lemons endurance racercar. 24' enclosed that holds a 19' hooptie racecar. We endurance race at paved tracks typically 14-24 hours in a weekend. We try and bring enough spares to not have to leave if we break something...
I picked up my truck from two other recalls the day this came out. Meh.
Not too worried about it, I have towed about 4500 miles and have never seen the trans temp get higher than 170 even over mountain passes.
The way I understand it:
GVWR - Weight of your truck = Payload. The maximum amount of stuff you can put in the truck including weight of trailer on the truck. GVWR is 10,000# for 2500s. In the circled picture it is estimating your truck weighs 6830# with a payload of 3170#.
GCWR - Weight of...
This video mentioned HP at around 320 with 660 lb.-ft of torque. Not HO numbers, but the torque number is nice. I wonder if the stroke would be the same to deliver that torque. It would be nice to have a gas truck that doesn't need 5000 RPM to get over a hill.
I saw Cummins will have a 6.7 gas engine next two years. Bottom end is similar with new top end for gas. Power specs are supposed to be similar to the diesel counterparts.
I have a 24' 10k enclosed trailer I use to tow my endurance race car, tools and spare parts. In the last 16 months I have towed about 4000 miles. I have a Laramie Mega 2500 diesel. If I were to do it over today, I would do the exact same thing. My payload is just under 2000#. Last scale I...
If it has higher miles it could also be a dealer trade. My father in law used to work as a driver for a Mercedes dealer and he would deliver a trade fairly commonly. My ordered truck had 10 miles on delivery.
I have a 10k 24' enclosed Carson Racer car trailer that is 29' overall that I tow with a 2500 Laramie Mega 6.7L. Last time I went over the scales it registered 4740# front axle, 4840# rear axle, 7640# trailer axles. I have a weighsafe drop hitch, it usually reads about 700-1000# on the hitch. I...
