RAM_GA Unless I'm way off on my electric needs under normal I expect to be well equipped to handle the extra amps. M reasoning is that my HO Cummins came with just one alternator, with the option of a 2nd one when ordered. I wanted to make sure I had enough for whatever I threw at it in the...
jsalbre thanks for the response. If I understand you correctly then, for 100 amp capacity, with the voltage drop, my draw from the alternators would be 2AWG 110 amps & 2/0 would be 103 amps, correct? Trying to wrap my feeble brain around this project correctly.
Bringing back an older thread, hopefully for an update from wiser members. I've go a 22 LB CC HO which I'm looking to install the wiring for dc/dc chargers for my bumper pull trailer. I've got (2) 225 amp alternators so not worried about my possible useage. My question is what size wire would be...
It takes 2 different systems. I talked to my dealership parts this morning for the wired tow camera which I ordered. I was told when ordering it would be 40 days out for delivery, according to them today, it should be here tomorrow. That would be 17 days. I feel like I hit the lottery. I've got...
I don't recall what they are called but they have the rubber base w/removable carpet inserts. I had them on the 1500 I had and the current 3500. Very nice mats. They hold up well.
Its crazy, On Wed I put in 2/3 of a tank @ 3.65, Yesterday it was 4.25 at the local Casey's. The Love's on the Interstate 35 miles away was 4.75. I've got 3 trips planned, reserved & campsites paid for between now and mid June. Total of probably 7000 miles +/-. I don't look forward to the cost...
On my 2020 which I traded off, I only had the 7 pin trailer connection. I didn't have the 12 pin necessary to attach the Aux 2 camera. I don't know if this can be added cost effectively if not on your truck. Someone else more knowledgeable hopefully will chime in.
@ACEd said it perfect. I am awaiting a digital rear view tow mode camera which has been supposedly ordered. The surround camera system works well. It helped me to see when backing into my driveway so I didn't hit either the tree branches or the garage overhang. I don't think it would help to be...
One morning you will wake up to a surprise email saying that your VIN has changed, the truck is built, and then the really hard part of waiting begins. Enjoy the ride.
My 50 gallon tank and DEF were both full when I got the truck. I topped the tank yesterday, still about 1/3 full it took $125. Ouch. The price of diesel jumped 30 cents last night. Just passed $4/gallon in our area,.
I will get some pics today and see if I'm smart enough to post. I'm like you, I didn't want to drill holes in my camper, especially since I'm planning on trading it in this fall when my camper on order is complete. Therefore, all my wires are on the outside. I ran the rear & 2 side wires down...
I mounted my trailer surround camera system today. Temp hook up and checked on the truck monitor. Works great. I've got to make a mounting bracket for the junction box tomorrow. I'm making it removable for taking to the next camper. Now if I can just get the wired tow camera.
I looked at upgrading my 2020 1/2 ton to a 3/4. Payload went from 1401 to 1900*/-. I don't want to trade again or worry about not enough truck so I went with my 1 ton. My payload on the door is 3791 w towing 25,101. I'm not concerned about what I'm towing even in the Rockies.
I just got back from my first real drive. I went almost 100 miles this morning, cruising hwy, city and back roads. The wife and I can't believe how smooth for a 1 ton it rides. Much smoother that the 3/4 ton Ford I had from work. Very pleasant handling going down the hwy, still staying off the...
