Go with 3500. Sounds like 8 foot bed is just an overall safer bet for you. You can never have too much truck. Disregard the FCA payload charts as they are only a max starting point as you add options to a truck it goes down. The more options the less payload. Hitch weight is not factored at all...

So true, I am like informing them on payload , hitch weight etc .. they have no idea and I’m not sure why . A Ram dealer seminar this is basic 101 info and very important to all buyers.. I am curious as to how many people are driving the wrong pickup pulling too much weight and overloaded..

I traded in a while ago a 2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trailhawk and the material inserts were great as well. It’s helped make my decision to go cloth on a “ downgraded” version of a Ram 3500

I’m in agreement on all your points. I’m meeting with my dealer tomorrow to work on a 2021 Ram 3500 big horn night edition. I believe in long run this is actually better than a Laramie.
