I agree and have been finding the same. I also tried running with some Archoil AR6500 in the tank and the DPF (EVIC) stayed at 0% for the full 24 hours, with a mix of towing, highway, and short-trip.
They have been fantastic. Quiet, sure-footed, and comfortable. The ride quality has been great when the tire pressure is appropriate for the load (I do have the rear air). They haven't seen snow yet, so TBD on that.
I have the platinums in 285/65/20 and they have been fantastic both towing and unloaded. They haven't seen snow yet, but seem to be great in all other conditions.
Not that I am aware of, but I have found it obvious when in regen; around town, the idle is a much lower grumble (sounds like the exhaust brake), and on the highway the instantaneous MPG is down 5-6 mpg during regen, and immediately bumps back up when the regen completes. My last regen started...
As a quick update, I am averaging about 600 miles and 17 engine hours between regens. The regens definitely seem to take awhile without a load - my last regen was 84 minutes while driving 75 mph unloaded the entire time. There was about a 5-6 mpg loss during the regen on the EVIC (jumps right...
I wasn't expecting it, but there's definitely a low end grumble when in regen. Sounds like light exhaust braking, but only when in gear and most noticable at idle or low speed
I can confirm the dash displays the DPF in 10% increments. My first regen was at 24 hours, and the second was when the DPF reached around 40%. I don't think the regen strategy changed, other than maybe to avoid frequent attempts without completion.
Can't comment on EGTs, but it certainly didn't...
Have a safe trip.
I will mention that the new 3500 barely seemed to notice the 8500# trailer, other than some drop in fuel economy. In alt-trailer height, everything was ultra stable even in cross winds, which made for a very enjoyable ride. With the tow-mode DRVM, it was actually easy to...
Correct. I don't have an iDash or any other way to monitor EGTs, so I can't comment on that. The original post in this thread indicates similar behavior when unloaded (up to 30% after 700 miles of highway speeds), but I haven't seen much feedback from others while towing with their '25s. Towing...
I haven't quite nailed down the regen logic (or DPF loading) on my 2025.
The first 24 hours were a mix of city and highway, with many short trips. Made it to about 30% on the EVIC DPF gauge, and the regen triggered on time at 24 hours. Being back at 0%, the next 600 miles were all towing our...
Thanks guys. Sounds like the same behavior as the TPMS on the 2500s. I run 50 psi front and 35 psi back when not connected to the trailer, so a far cry from the 20% threshold. For now, I think I'll just live with the alarm until there is an aftermarket solution for changing the setpoints...
My new '25 3500 has the TPMS and not the TPIS I was expecting (and hoping for). It seems like others have said the same. Without any aftermarket solutions available yet to adjust or turn off the threshold pressure, it seems like the options are to run at 65/80 all the time, or deal with the...
