My ‘24 2500 with 3.73 consistently gives me over 16 MPG on the highway if I keep it at the speed limit or a few miles over. I try not to exceed 78mph on a 75. The faster you go, the faster a vehicle with a frontal mass of barn door will eat fuel.
Rippa now has warehouses in the USA with parts readily available. 2 year parts warranty but owners perform their own service. Most Chinese minis provide no warranty or service.

My 6.4 tows just fine. Saved $12,500. Diesels are good for long hauling, towing heavy and frequent. I don't tow heavy or frequent, so diesel was not a sound financial decision for us.
