I know this post is 3 years old, but I hope you're still around. Do you know where you found the pinout for the 12-pin connector on the truck? I would love to do something similar with a better camera and the Ford cable, but I can't find anywhere that shows what pins on the truck are the video.
Considering the filters are about $100 just for parts (not including shipping), that's not all that bad. You'll save about $65 if you do it yourself, but you have to decide if that is worth your time.
Is there a good reference site or list for the filters for our trucks? I can narrow it down at places like Geno's Garage, but I really wish Ram would just put a quick reference list out for their own part numbers like:
Oil Filter: Part XXX
Chassis Fuel Filter: Part XXX
Engine Fuel Filter: Part...
It sounds like they did trucks on the factory floor first, then ones at dealers, then recalling already sold vehicles. Which makes sense wanting to get the factory back up and running ASAP and getting trucks sold.
Where did you hear this? I'm curious because my truck was built after Jan 23, (as far as I can tell), and I don't want to have to wait longer to get it. It would be great news if they applied the fix to the trucks on the line first and mine has it already.
