RAM could use the opportunity to add a PTO driven hydraulic pump to the power wagon transmission.
Then offer a hydraulic winch on the front and back, plus the tow ball hitch.
12 volt standard alternator and 24 volt aux alternator.
That would put it into almost a COTS setup.
As far as dashboards = everything since the 1960s steel dash will come apart from sun exposure eventually.
The way to keep it nice ( any vehicle ) is to cover the dash to reduce sun exposure when parked.
I should have posted this earlier.
Local RV show at the fair grounds.
I enjoy eating at Sunshine Saloon if anyone is interested in getting together while out at the show.
I am not really connected to the show - just live nearby and go sometimes for fun.
A couple of links...
I have not done that, but I do play with LEDs.
Because I mostly work with 24 volt, I have been experimenting with these 24 volt strips with a built in driver - so they can connect directly to a 24 volt battery vs needing a separate unit. When I say directly - I mean through a fuse...
There are a couple of options:
This is a small trickle charger that works for 12 volt starter / 12 volt auxiliary house batteries. It provides a small trickle charge.
It is temperature compensated so it deals with the need to slightly change the charging algorithm as the starter battery temp...
I wonder if they did this to have a more reliable stationary idle operation. Those sound like ambulance settings where they idle for a long time - sometimes an entire shift. The alternator has to provide power for a lot of accessories and not soot up.
I actually asked one of the bigger / high volume dealers since you would think that they have more leverage.
Sometimes it is finding the right sales person that wants to get an order and needs to make a sale to feed the family.
Honestly sometimes it is women, because they have a long history...
There are some companies that make diesel based heaters for situations like this.
Here is an example unit.
The idea is that in addition to what you have done, form a sort of air enclosure under your truck and blow the warm air into the pocket under your truck.
Hopefully it helps to thaw out...

Thanks to The Who for this iconic song...
Around the 9 minute mark for those that don't want to listen to the whole thing.
I keep asking for RAM to put together a Laramie with a megacab and rambox - but it is as if they can't see the point.
It is only offered on the limited and I actually like the Laramie interior better for real truck use that will drag in some dirt.
I told the dealer to go back to RAM and ask...
Thanks for the ongoing suggestions.
This is nominally what the diesel heaters look like. A 1 - 2 gallon tank on the side of the mini suitcase with the heater in it.
The fresh cold air comes in the lower port on the yellow case and warm air is blown out through the top port. A hose connects...
