Why is that? Mine went bad at 72,000 but just over five years. I got the code and dismantled it. I was sick at just how close I came to being a casualty. It affects all 6.7 with no real cause. My truck spent its first five years in an enclosed shop in south Ga. No reason for it to have done that.
Did you get this addressed? If you are getting a 2609 with stock grid heater, you need to disable it now. Regardless if it feels tight, that stud is a time bomb and the next application of heat might be the end of your engine.
