2020 2500 Laramie MegaCab has arrived!

Why thank you...back at ya! Nice looking rig! Over the years I've had a Flame Red, Silver, Khaki Metallic and another Flame Red...mostly because they were the right price-point on the lot. This time around I got to choose, and I've thought that Patriot Blue looks fantastic on these trucks...

2020 2500 Laramie MegaCab has arrived!

Thanks for the response! You are absolutely right...it's the same in my area. Dealerships tend to put Diesels in all the upper level packages. Every Laramie, Longhorn or Limited I looked at within 200mi has the Cummins in it. I had to special order this truck with the 6.4 and the various...

2020 2500 Laramie MegaCab has arrived!

Surprisingly with all the C19 worries, market depressions and quarantines...my truck arrived EARLY! In fact, too early, I'll be waiting a few weeks until the Memorial Day sales events kick off before I pick it up. For now I have gone end-to-end and confirmed it was built per the build sheet...

    2020 2500 Laramie Megacab

Thanks for the response! The colors on the truck were a long process in deciding and involved a good bit of sitting in the various interiors and looking at our past experience with the other Rams. My wife played a big part in both choices but was most interested in the Patriot Blue over any...

    2020 2500 Laramie Megacab

Thanks for the mention. I had noticed a change in the "build" photos on the Ram website and called the dealer to ask about it. He says the truck will have chrome...I'm thinking not. Doesn't really matter to me either way, the painted bumper looks fine. I'll be taking the truck directly to a...

    2020 2500 Laramie Megacab

Greetings Ram Fans, After months of prep work, and no small amount of discussion in this Forum, I went to the dealership today and placed the order. By working with my dealer on the timing it's a good bet the truck will arrive perfectly to take advantage of the Memorial Day incentives that...

Laramie vs. Laramie Longhorn leather interiors...any durability issues?

Lol...this really got a good conversation going!! I APPRECIATE all the inputs and have coupled all of them with discussions at the dealership and have decided to stay with the Laramie, black, bucket seats. In fact, I placed the order today and will start another post with a copy of the build...

Laramie vs. Laramie Longhorn leather interiors...any durability issues?

Greetings Ram Fans, I have posted in this forum with various questions before pulling the trigger on my order. I know some of you are doing the same so hopefully this question is of some use. Regarding the durability of the two choices trim levels. I'm aware that Longhorn is all leather...

    Preparing to order Laramie 2500

As always, I appreciate the experiences you share. Your Gen 5 had a tad bit more tow capacity than my Gen 4, but even with my Puma behind it I make pretty good headway with the 5.7 and 3.92. It has always been the light suspension giving me the greatest concern. GCWR for my Bighorn is 15,950...

    Preparing to order Laramie 2500

Thanks for your insight. From my Jeep days I remember the math gyrations we used to go through trying to optimize for the trail but hadn't considered a tire change in this case...that would certainly be a good strategy. This is exactly the sort of feedback I've been looking for. Thanks again!

    Preparing to order Laramie 2500

3.73 vs. 4.10...Sheesh! I think I'm more invested in this choice than any other. How on earth can a .37 difference change tow capacity by over a ton and or multiple miles per gallon??!!...I know, engineering. I've been reading lots of the posts in here (Great stuff folks!) and frequently...

    My Rams

Thanks for the response! No doubt you've experienced the same things I have while towing a large camper. Ram has done a brilliant job with the 1500 and it has done all I ever asked of it...but I know I'm over-the-line when hitched to the Puma. We've had campers ranging from pop-ups to a...

    My Rams

Thanks for the feedback...it's comforting to hear testimonials like that. I'm fairly well set on the 6.4 Hemi. I've spoken with a good number of folks that have experience or expertise on the subject and for my purposes they have agreed the 6.4 is the best fit and supports all intended use of...

    Preparing to order Laramie 2500

I'm familiar with those...I put them on my Bighorn and they've done a great job...though they do drop a couple MPG on the 1500. I thought the stock Goodyear Wranglers were garbage and with the rocky country we have in central Tennessee I need a rugged tire that won't pop on the first creek...

    Preparing to order Laramie 2500

Thanks for the response! I have an old Navy buddy who bought the 1500 Limited with the 12" display and I was immediately sold. The Crew Cab and all the storage options it offers are a great improvement over the old quad cabs...but that Mega Cab is amazing, and will keep passengers far more...
