My truck is in the shop today for the Y78 recall. I hate someone else working on my truck, but it is what it is. Hopefully the tech does a good job as I will be checking things out closely.
I just drove through some of the worst down pours that I have ever had to drive through a couple of weeks ago while I was on a trip and not a drop of water came inside my cab.
That is exactly why I chose to find and fix the leak myself. I have no faith in the dealership to repair such a simple problem as most of the technicians don't take the time to diagnose the problem correctly! They spend most of their time messing around with their cell phones! I have not had any...
I was able to pull back the rubber seal at the bottom corner on the passenger side rear window and with the aid of a headlamp I could see that the weather stripping along the bottom and the side of the window seal terminated at the radius of the body window opening. I sealed the area of the...
My truck has wind noise in the same location that you have. I confirmed the location by stuffing a rag at the location and going for a test drive down the freeway. With the rag installed in the location I have no wind noise. I will investigate the problem and find out what is causing it.
I carefully removed all of my cab lights and I dried out the cab lights using a hand held hair dryer and I cleaned the cab light gaskets and the roof area where the cab lights mount with a rag and then I applied a thin amount of RTV silicone to the gaskets one at a time and reinstalled them. I...
The cab lights on my truck is where my water leak was. It wasn't that hard to figure out with all the condensation in some of the lights. I fixed mine myself. No leaks since and I have a sunroof. No way would I have taken it back to the dealer as I have no faith in these so called technicians today.
By chance are you going to disassemble your CP4 pump to check the condition of the internals? I would be interested to see the condition of the tappets, rollers, and cam.
Wow Snaps, that is a bunch of work that is needed to fix your leak. I hope that all goes well for you! Luckily my fix was way less of a pain to do in order to stop my leak but it has been taken care of. No more leaks for me.
What are the odds of 7 trucks with thrown connecting rods at one dealership in the country? I find that very hard to believe. I have spent most of my career rebuilding engines both gasoline and diesel of many different displacements and manufactures and I just don't buy that. In order for that...
