    Tailgate warning

It is! Is there a way to turn that setting off? It should at least be optional

Headlamps & DRLs - rant and fixes

Is that a function of the courtesy light options on the screen settings menu (so not using software, only the standard menu)?

    Pipe attack resistant hitch pin.

How often do you remove your hitch? If you eave it on the truck most of the time, you could get a plain agricultural pin and thread it then put a small padlock through the pin hole after securing it with a nut. The padlock is simply to annoy a would-be thief by making it awkward to get a pipe...

    Diff change

You see? there is my issue! I'm almost always needing 4wd to pull away in the snow and ice. Something needs adjusting, clearly!

    Diff change

Yes, that does seem to work. The point is that it doesn't move off like the 2500 used to and particularly when on snow and ice, trying to pull away from a junction. I suspect it will be fine in true off road driving.

The manual is a joke!!! The LSD is part of a package, so not listed on the window sticker. It is referred to as th e'High Traction Differential' when seen as an option on the 2500, that was listed separately on my old truck I don't know what type of locker it is, other than it is an AAM 11.5...

    Diff change

I went to the dealer and confirmed the rear diff is a locker. It's weak and adversely affected by the traction control, but mechanically, it's there. It appears the issue is that the newer generation traction controls cut in more progressively and far earlier than previous incarnations...

Headlamps & DRLs - rant and fixes

It will probably depend on the trim level lights spec. I think in the US mode, you can have accent strips only, but I don't know if they can be fully bright - I would doubt it, you couldn't on the 4th gen amber accent/DRLs.

Headlamps & DRLs - rant and fixes

@heyguy, did you get the lead to plug it in. I think that is what TTA means by the pins. Hello Tru Albertan (you definitely are with spelling like that;) I'm an ex-pat Englishman in Medicine Hat, so I notice things like that!), Ram Canada have dropped a massive bollock with those lights! Not...

    MX4 Tonneau Cover Issue

Though Bak Industries are certainly not the greatest at quality control (my holding open struts were rattling loose so I drilled out their riveting attempt and replaced it with mine - simply clamping it in place made all the difference) the tonneau now on my 3500 was on my 2500 for 2 years...

    MX4 Tonneau Cover Issue

Do you mean it is too narrow or that the tonneau rests inside the rails and the tongue won't engage? Either way, the first thing to do is ensure the assembly is aligned centrally in the gap between the rails over the bed. If it is not straight/square (front to rear and side to side) you will...

    Diff change

Thanks for the info, Lary, I feared it would be Dana-like.

    Diff change

Having taken a stock truck off the lot, I didn't get a rear axle with a locking diff (termed the 'High Traction Diff' on the build sheet). The recent snow has shown me how useful the AAM geared LSD in my last truck, a Ram 2500, really was - without me realising. I'm looking into getting the...

    Extra battery mounting

I've had a look through most of the threads, forgive me, please, if this has bee done to death. I want to fit an extra battery or may be two in order to separate non essential loads (meaning ones that run or start the truck) from the supply to accessories such as a winch or compressor or what...
