The newer trucks (2019-21) have the three ribs that require groves on the plug. Most all of the aluminum plugs made for those years run $40 or more. Does anyone know why they put those ribs on the fill tube to begin with?

Here is a low budget $5 prototype I’ve been playing around with for my 2021 Cummins bighorn. 1 1/4” PVC plug from the hardware store. Drilled three groves in the sides. The magnet was just one I had stuck to my tool box from who knows where. Plan to cut an O-ring grove with the table saw...
