Chevy definitely has used the same spring pack in their 2500 and 3500 and in that case the ratings tend to just be a numbers game as you say. But Ram uses a COMPLETELY different rear suspension setup in the 2500 vs the 3500. The 3500 uses traditional leaf springs and the 2500 uses a 5 link coil...

Has anybody else seen this payload/towing chart and can you explain how one obtains the new for 2025 11,040 GVWR on the 2500?
