When to drain the water separator?

I zip tie a bolt onto the bottom of my drain line so it actually drains into the pan instead of blowing in the wind. Just fyi.

They dont have a drain line or do you mean the line you added?

I use clear tubing from the drain to my oil pan when I do filters. It's coiled, so it makes a mess. The weight of the bolt tied to it keeps it straight so no diesel all over the driveway.

Ah i got ya, i put my truck on the hoist so no wind in the shop lol
