The engines are shipped with the same 5W40 Premium Blue full synthetic that they're tested with, with the oil level confirmed via X-ray.Really depends on the shipping company's as i know almost every shipping company i have worked with does not allow shipping anything with oil in it (unless its an oil drum)

Everything I've seen says that the 19+ motors have a factory fill of 10w-30. It was the pre-18 motors that got 5w-40.
Think about what you're saying.
Ram ships CTD trucks to the frozen tundra during winter months.
I've never seen a reliable claim that the factory fill is 10W-30. It's always been said to be 5W-40 Valvoline full synth.
For years it was straight 15W40 dino in to everything. Later on (2013?) it was split with 15W40 going into the chassis cab engines and 10W30 synthetic blend into pickups. It went full 10W30 for the first half of 2019 production, then it changed to 5W40 full synth for all engines and has remained that way since.Everything I've seen says that the 19+ motors have a factory fill of 10w-30. It was 5w-40, and I agree it should be 5w-40 everywhere.... but I am not the one saying it, Cummins is.
Cummins, Valvoline unveil one oil for them all - Truck News
COLUMBUS, Ind. -- Valvoline’s latest premium engine oil not only works in diesel, natural gas, and gasoline engines; it also provides extended oil drainwww.trucknews.com
It's also been put out by Cummins reps at TDR's May Madness.
Yes, and for the first half of 2019. It's correct.10w-30 pre-19??!! Don’t think that’s correct.
Where does this article indicate 10-30 is used?
Actually, where does the article indicate anything you mention is used in the light duty cummins at all? That seems focused on HD and MD truck engines.
The Ram engine's considered automotive and is at this point pretty unique. Most (all?) of the MD B's are shipped dry, too.Maybe read it again? B6.7 is listed. All 6.7’a are MD, there isn’t a LD version.
I'm sure someone has and can post it...or you could believe me. No one on the internet is wrong!Maybe someone can do a UOA on a factory fill.... at this point mine is long gone.
According to Amazon, they first started selling the Valvoline 10W30 blend in May '12. It's printed on the oil caps now.I know Cummins has data on acceptable 30wt oils for the flat tappet B series, but I don't recall seeing them ever list a 10w-30 as a recommended fill so it seems odd it would be the factory fill. Was a synthetic blend 10w-30 even really a common thing before CK+ oils? 2013 was still strong in the CJ oil specs.
