I was waiting for this redesign awhile. I was disappointed to learn the G56 will no longer be available with the Cummins as I would have placed an order for one. I suppose it is what it is being Ford and Chevy are all auto.

Do we know what transmissions will be available and will both offerings be the same on the 2500 and 3500s?

The 2500 will have the 68RFE and the 850 lb ft Cummins.

The 3500 will have the 850lb ft Cummins standard and the 1000 lb ft optional. It will be mated to the Aisin transmission.

Not 100 percent sure if the standard Cummins in 3500 gets both or not, will have to check.

Very sad to see the G56 go, but as it stopped being offered with a gas engine in 2009 and I have no interest in the Cummins it will be okay.

Lots of dealers ordered the 2018s with the G56 as they new that it was going away.

I will probably have one when they sit on the used market after the novelty wears off though.

The 68RFE is with the standard output Cummins in both 2500 and 3500.

The Aisin is only available with the High Output Cummins
