Aisin?

LOL, couldn't resist.
Seems like it...

It was the 42RLE. A transmission that never should have existed. The Liberty started out with the 45RFE, but some "genius" at Chrysler decided to save money by taking a FWD car transmission and turning it lengthwise to shove in the Liberty, TJ, and early JKs.

I had an '06 Liberty CRD. The 2.5 diesel with custom engine and tranny tune was a really nice vehicle, 27 mpg highway and enough torque that with a trailer on back in 4WD low it would just keep crawling along without your foot on the gas. Amazing what a good tow vehicle it was, and just generally fun to drive.

Can you link to the listing? If it's in as good condition as that picture, and running well, I think that would be a steal.

Such a cool vehicle, hard to think of anything that looks more vintage/rugged. Not surprised if it sold for that, restored ones go for twice as much or more.

Made some more progress on the jeep today.

Finished up the exhaust. I’ve built four or five exhausts but I’ve always tacked them up and pulled them out to weld them. I decided to try and weld the exhaust in place under the rig this time. It turned out fine. I definitely have respect for people who do that all the time. I’m much better at welding when I’m comfortable and not working overhead in tight clearances

Mated the freshly rebuilt and cleaned up NP231 to the new AX15. Shifters and linkages dialed in. 4x4 light working

231 whp on the dyno with 40" stickies! I'm happy!! Has a stage 2 truck cam, just enough but not too much. Then went to Hawk Pride and tested the new found hp! @Rockcrawlerdude I had one of those once, then I rolled it one to many times. This is what happened next. check out Hawk Pride if you have not yet. Tons of trails.

Let me know next time you go to hawk pride. That’s a pretty good drive looks like 5 hours from atlanta but I’ll do it. Choccolocco is also a lot of fun. I’ll bring the crawler. I’m on 40 stickies, too

After decades of driving trucks I decided to buy a car. What is the most untruck like car around? A Lexus. So I have been driving a 2006 Lexus 430SC. A small V-8 in a two seater car with a retractable hard top. They stopped making them in 20210. Going up in value and a blast to drive. Six speed automatic that shifts like a Formula One car. The interior is walnut and leather like an old Jaguar.

Nice car, and you're right holding their price and probably rising. "Small V8" doesn't tell the story, that engine has some punch in a small light car like that.

The small Lexus is fast enough. It is relatively heavy for a small car over 3,000 pounds. I like Corvettes, and looked at C5 models, but they are too fast now that I am older, especially the Z06 model.
