New Safety Recall Advanced Communication – Y78

FCA US LLC (FCA US) has announced a safety recall on certain 2019 through 2020 Model Year (D2) Ram 3500 Pickup, (DD) Ram 3500 Cab Chassis, (DJ) Ram 2500 Pickup and (DP) Ram 4500/5500 Cab Chassis vehicles equipped with a 6.7L diesel engine.

VINs identified as being involved in this campaign are currently live and searchable. Stop sale is in effect for the above-identified vehicles.

Vehicles impacted by a stop sale are eligible for reimbursement allowance through the Recall Floorplan Reimbursement Policy (RFPRP), which can be requested upon recall claim submission.

IMPORTANT: Some of the involved vehicles may be in dealer new vehicle inventory. Federal law requires you to complete this recall service on these vehicles before retail delivery. Violation of this requirement by a dealer could result in a civil penalty of up to $21,000 per vehicle. Involved vehicles can be determined by using the VIP inquiry process.

REASON FOR THIS SAFETY RECALL Some of the above vehicles may have been built with a High Pressure Fuel Pump (HPFP) that could fail prematurely. A high pressure fuel pump failure may introduce internally failed component debris into the fuel system potentially causing fuel starvation. Vehicle occupants may notice a Malfunction Indicator Lamp illuminating, a fuel leak, abnormal engine noise, or a change in drive quality. Fuel starvation may result in an unexpected loss of motive power, which can cause vehicle crash without prior warning.

SERVICE ACTION FCA US will conduct a voluntary safety recall to replace the HPFP, update the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) software, and inspect and, if necessary, replace additional fuel system components. The remedy for this condition is not currently available. Dealers will be notified of the launch of this safety recall by way of established communication methods. This recall is estimated to launch in 1st Quarter of 2022. We ask that you please take the time to ensure that your personnel are aware of this communication and are prepared to execute a customer friendly process for inquiries regarding involved vehicles

Wiper Arm Recall Z08 / NHTSA 22V-035

Report
::
Some 2019-2020 MY Ram 3500 vehicles may have been built with one or both windshield wiper arms with an improperly formed wiper arm head joint. The suspect period began on April 27, 2019, when a new wiper nut was introduced into production, and ended on March 9, 2020, when the new wiper nut was no longer used in production. The suspect period was determined using vehicle production records. Similar vehicles not included in the recall were manufactured before or after the suspect period.

Recall Notice:

WHY DOES MY VEHICLE NEED REPAIRS?

The wiper arm on your vehicle [1] may have been built with an improperly formed wiper arm head joint that did not fully form the splines of the head joint on the wiper arm. This can allow the joint to strip and result in the wiper arm failing to operate properly when the system is activated. Prior to complete wiper system failure, the driver may notice that one or both wipers do not clear the windshield properly or that the wipers are not in their proper rest positions. An improperly functioning wiper system may, in certain circumstances, lead to diminished road visibility which can cause a vehicle crash without prior warning.

ESC Safety Recall

Safety Recall Z20 / NHTSA 22V-140
Electronic Stability Control

2019 - 2022 (DJ) Ram 2500 Pickup
2019 - 2022 (DF) Ram 3500 10K LB. CAB Chassis
2021 - 2022 (WD) Dodge Durango

The Antilock Brake System (ABS) control module software on about 370,437 of
the above vehicles may prevent the Electronic Stability Control ("ESC") telltale
lamp from properly displaying under certain conditions. Unexpected performance
of the ESC system with no warning to the driver can cause a vehicle crash without
prior warning.

Repair: Reprogram the ABS Control Module with the latest software level.

Seat Belt Safety recall W67 / 20V-580.

The front seat belt retractor on these vehicles may have been built with an improperly formed wave disc which has reduced internal friction resulting in reduced energy management capability. A seat belt retractor with reduced energy management capability may not perform as expected during a crash.

Received an email this morning concerning my December vehicle health report stating this recall pertains to my VIN. The narrative only specifies RAM 1500 Classics so I'm not sure what's going on...
