Had my rear power slider w/ defroster swapped out today for a single piece fixed w/o defroster. Yep, just a plain tinted glass window. Love it so much better than the obstructive slider and defroster lines. Had my ‘06 SLT for 13 years and just got so used to its plain glass that when I ordered my ‘22 this was something I long had planned to swap. Didn’t have any issues with the slider. This is just a personal preference, like any other modification we all do to our trucks.

Bought the Mopar glass from the dealer (68503489AA). My body shop’s installer came to the house and did the job in my driveway. Took him about 1.5 hrs. He removed the slider/motor/cable assembly intact without any damage expect for the alignment clips which get cut while removing. It’ll be listed soon for sale in case anyone wants to upgrade.

I left the wiring/switch in the truck so if a future owner wanted to go back, they easily could do so.

If you weren’t in Texas I would have offered to trade you my non slider / defrost for your slider with defrost. Had it on my old truck and miss opening the back window so much !
