I'm looking to buy and then mount a 4 wheel camper on it, can any of you PW owners supply me with real world MPG numbers?

Remember a Powerwagon is at a payload deficit. We have seen them as low as 1100lbs.

I am assuming your are talking about an in bed camper.

The soft suspension of the Powerwagon isn't real compatible with one, but I have seen people do it.

Good luck. let us know as I would also assume it will lower MPG but not as much as towing a larger trailer.

heck ,my current taco gets about 17, unloaded.loaded,i've gotten 13 in thr rockies. pitiful/
i'm sure it will be lower, the 4wc camper is a slide in, i talked with the manufacturer and he sent me some pics of them on pw"s , looks like airbags and a different sway bar will make it good, beats putting a camper on the taco and way more capable, now if i can just wade through all the dealer mumbo jumbo, bait n switch...

almost 3000 miles on my 2019. I haven't reset trip meter 1 and it shows 13.1mpg average over all those miles. I closely monitor/reset often the Fuel Economy indicator and it seems that I get 16.5mpg on highway and about 11-12mpg around town. add my 2500lb teardrop trailer in tow and it docks 2mpg off the highway mpg number. strong cross/headwind docks me 1-2mpg (or adds it if behind me).

I fully anticipate I'll get 14 to 15 during the summer /warmer months. Right now this tank takes 80% of my trip to work to warm up.

I. had a '16 PW that was stone cold stock. Not quite apples tp apples because of the 6 VS 8 speed, but it avg'd 13.5 over 14,000 miles hand calc'd.

Just finished 4000 mile trip and the dash said 15mpg which means closer to 14.5. Mostly highway but included 100 miles or so in 4x4 on trails. That also includes crossing the Rockies to/ from. I generally stayed within 5mph of the posted limits. Not heavily loaded, 2 people and clothes for the most part.

I did not hand calculate this trip but many tanks prior, the dash was consistent .5 to .7 high.

Idk, personally I can see this truck hitting 18-20mpg on the highway. I achieved it today on the highway. Granted I was doing 63 but hey, we shall see once the weather warms up.

I've only got 500 miles on my new 2019, and a heavy foot. I'm getting 13 mpg in mixed town / highway driving.

thanks, only a couple miles worse than my long bed tacoma for a much more capable vehicle, too bad the dealers are playing such games on a year old truck

Yep my old 2nd gen taco with KM2 33s and 4.56 was basically 14 mpg regardless. Recent trip to Montana in the PW and I was getting 15.5 mpg and I was in 4W-HI for part of that tank.

heres my 19 PW not towing or really hauling anything over the course of 18K miles hand calculated

btw my PW only has 650lbs of payload with a full tank of fuel and no passengers so i would recommend another truck and do carli / thuren suspension on it

How did you figure? Did you weight your truck? What does the door sticker say?
