The hitch is removable and shouldn’t be counted in the sticker payload, but who knows how the factory does it.

Ive been corrected several times about that and told it counts toward your payload

I would assume the factory just puts everything the trucknis optioned for on or in the truck and then weighs it. So if it's optioned for a hitch, it goes in the bed and they weigh it. To me it's better if it is included since you would need to figure that into your calculations if you were making sure you had the capacity for any given trailer set up anyways. Might as well know the impact ahead of time...

Good thing the payload sticker is really just for marketing and means nothing legally for private use, or even commercial use.

That's true. Sorry to say but AFAIK, you also got the older "q-series" 20k curt hitch as opposed to the a-series 30k they offer with the dually max tow or a 25k a-series you could have bought from curt.

That said, gawr/gcwr/over are what matters.

Well maybe but it basically got thrown into the deal at me as bait. Ive had it a season and a half now and I have no complaints, rides with very little chucking and with my Cougar only being 10,000 gross and about 1800 hitch weight loaded its a pretty good pairing. When I first got the hitch we were having a hell of a time hooking and unhooking but we got the hang of it now, it is a little on the finicky side. So if it don't kill us or anyone else its just fine.

This is my 22 big horn 4x4, cc, long bed, hemi, 4.10 axle. The website gives me the same payload number.

Edit: Single rear wheels. 50 gallon tank.

what I meant was this 2500 has payload of 1500 lbs that one 3000, the next one 2300...
10000# GVWR - ( Actual weight of truck + 150# for 2 drivers and weight a full tank of fuel ) = listed payload capacity. There's a huge variation because the Cummins weighs 900# more than the Hemi, and a loaded 4x4 MegaCab Limited weighs a hell of a lot more than a stripped down 2wd regular cab Tradesman.
