The original outdoorsman package never really seemed substantial to me. I want a Powerwagon but don't want to give up payload and towing.

So, since the 2018 already has the offroad package(still missing an eLocker rear) I would like to see Ram add some substance into that package. Originally, I was going to be happy with just the eLocker.

But now I want to see the truck I have always thought they should build, since they only offer the Powerwagon in one cab and bed configuration.

So, Outdoorsman Package. Available on all trims (except Powerwagon :D

So then any cab or bed...so I can get a Crew Cab 8 foot bed. Then add the Hill descent, off road shocks, the Powerwagon's front and rear axles...yes, lockers front and rear, and the Powerwagon's winch. Seems easy enough right. Oh and special wheels and those good year Duratracs.

All factory available stuff.

And don't do what the current offroad package does and make me get chrome. I want to keep the black tradesman grille and bumpers. Make it be color match on the upper trims.

Ok, that is what I want. Thank you ;)

I really dont understand why the E-Lockers are listed as a package option for the Tradesman, but not the other trim levels (other than the Power Wagon). I wonder if the E-Locker differential isnt up to the task of having 1000 ft pounds of torque thrown at it?

Because....Tradesman with Powerwagon package...only available on Tradesman 6.4l 4x4 Crew cab Shortbed.

No other trim can get the Powerwagon package.

Also, do not think it wouldn't be up to the task, and the other trims get the 6.4l so even if that was true it could still be an option...but see above.

Torque management would make sure it lived regardless.

OMG that sucks, how can you call it a 3/4 ton... Hell my old 2001 Ram 1500 could handle 1500 pounds, the new Ram 1500 approaches 1900 pounds...

Yeah there is no way I will be buying a 3/4 ton truck that can only handle 1100 pounds payload, I need closer to 3,000 pounds payload.

It is all 3/4 ton parts...just flex suspension.

And people want a Cummins in it...subtract another 800 lbs

Oh that would be fun, a big honkin truck that only has like 700 pounds of payload, four moderately sized passengers and you are overweight.

I kinda get it, but if you want flex and go crawling go buy a Jeep Wrangler Rubicon.

But yeah if they made the front e-locker at least an option with the off road package I could live with the rear just being a standard limited slip differential. I understand why you wouldnt want a LSD in the front even with CAD (Center Axle Disconnect) but you would thing the E-Locker would be an option.
My old mud truck I put a mechanical locker in the rear and an ARB air locker in the front, it would go through darn near anything. But then again I did detonate a few halfshafts, u-joints and diff carriers... I suppose it could become a warranty nightmare for RAM.

Now that Ford has the tremor and there (seems to be at least) quite a bite of hype/demand behind it, I really hope Ram looks at something similar. The power wagon is unreal for a toy, but for someone who needs significant payload it sucks.
They could even call it a Rebel like the 1500's and spec it fairly similarly; pretty much the current "offroad package" plus a rear e-locker and maybe a lift. Could have an optional winch for the gasser if it really won't fit with the diesel.

Has the Tremor actually showed up yet?

Curious how that limited slip front is working with the diesel.

Really hoping RAM does something to make the Tremor, tremble.

TRX news should be getting ramped up...hoping that it offers some of its goodies to the Powerwagon, and ultimately my Outdoorsman Package.
