I wasn't very happy with my dealer on delivery day a month ago, so after much bickering, I finally asked if the truck will be full of fuel. They said yes. I smiled knowing that a chassis cab truck with dual tanks holds 74 gallons. I thought to myself, that'll be a $350 fuel up. I think fuel was $4.79 then. It's $5.29 now. And when I got it, the gauge read full. But of all things, the DEF tank was only on 3/4.
I think 3/4 is factory fill. As stated, it's best not to overfill as it can cause the ultrasonic sensor reading to fault.
They wont fill the DEF otherwise it can cause issues with the level sensors
There's a TSB that covers this but I don't recall if they issued a software fix.

I wait until its below 1/2, then stop at the pump for $10 worth.

Yea, I add a 2.5gal box when mine gets around 1/4 tank.

I stocked up a little before the big DEF panic so I'm probably good on DEF until it ages out. Keep the extra in the cool basement.

You read my mind. Mine was full when I picked it up in December. Getting close to my first DEF fill after 5.5 months and 2900 miles. I was just getting ready to ask how much to add so as to not be over and cause issues. I’m just above a 1/4 meow.

Most diesel in the north Dallas area is 5.29. Aside from the gas stations that are normally higher (5.49 is the highest), I saw my first 5.39. Curious to see if the others in the area will follow today.

Just paid $5.89 cash here in Cali.
On base, it was $5.55. Get a .05 discount if you use the exchange credit card. At $135 Fill up, that saves me a few dollars

Circle K down the street.

Pump price $5.49 Diesel

$.18/gallon discount with Gas Buddy. But you can only do $75 a day. AND today it only let me do $45 for some reason!

Also a $.16/gallon cash back with get upside on top of Gas Buddy.

So $5.15 for first $45 (8.183 gallons)

Rest of the fill up $99.74 (18.138 gallons) using Costco Card which is $.04 cash back a gallon and Get Upside $.16/gallon cash back, so $5.29 a gallon.

$138 fill up at $5.25/gallon average.

Damn that’s a lot of work to save a buck.

For reference Costco / Sam’s club are $5.19/galllon today (just not worth the drive)

This is a 30 or 32 gallon tank????

The Sam's in McKinney, TX (NE Dallas suburb) just dropped back below $5, saw it this morning at $4.99. Most other stations in the area still $5.19-.29.

Pismo Beach, CA this morning.
Regular $6.79
Premium $6.99
Diesel $7.45

Absolutely getting ridiculous. Even crazier is that every pump was being used!
I suppose paying out the a$$ is still better than not being able to get it. Only 4.60 here in Michigan. Never thought I’d say that.
