How to deprogram 3 horn honks!!!

So will Arduino 3 Horn honk disable kits for the 2022s be coming to the forum classifieds soon?
It would have to be the same way that tazer DT is doing it as a live feature for the 1500’s. I doubt our guy is gonna want to put the time into figuring it out though, since he’s got enough on his plate, and disabling this feature wouldn’t really benefit him.

I wish Ram would quit making this stuff like this hard/extra steps - just make it easy to enable/disable with a soft key in the Radio like GM.

There’s always the hold the fob against the b pillar when closing the door trick. If you remember..

@superjoe83 How did you bypass this on your '22?
It involves using the VSIM and a timer module, it was the least intrusive way that I found that didn't cut any factory harnesses.

I used the door ajar signal from the VSIM to trigger a timer that would ground the horn mute input to the VSIM when the door is open and then for 5 seconds after the door was shut. That way the horn is muted for that period of time that the horn would normally honk, the turn signals still flash once when the door is closed, which is fine, at least it's quiet.

My truck didn't come with a VSIM, but the 22's are pre wired for it, you just have to enable it with alfaobd or jscan.

Let me know if you need specifics on anything.

I may have to do this on my truck since I put in a 2022 BCM and have no desire to change the BCM again.

Do you have a link to some details?

I would like to know more about this. Have a '22 and this seems like the best alternative that I have found. Easiest way to check to see if I have a VSIM already?

If you didn’t order it with the VSIM it’s about 99% you don’t have it. As said above though, your trick should be wired up for it and it’s an easy install.

I checked and it doesn't have it, but I assume it is wired for it cause I see a few lonely connectors under the steering column.

I found a used VSIM on ebay for about $100, but I had to wait awhile to find one at that price, seems like most are listed for $200-$300, a new one is around $330. The part number is 68410361AF, that number will work for 2019-22, not sure if you could use one from a 23-24.

The timer i got from amazon, its fully programmable over wifi using your phone. I can look up the settings and will post it later

Here is the VSIM info, I have highlighted the wires that need to be used, the horn mute is in the brown connector and the door ajar signal is in the grey connector.

I can go more into detail and post how I wired up the timer if needed, I would have to go out to the truck and look at it since I can't remember exactly how it's wired.

If you could do a full how-to that would be great. Sounds like a huge pita but worth it!

That's a fantastic idea - I use one of those timers on my air dryer purge valve, they are great. If you dig up which function you used in the timer that's probably 90% of it.

I have been gone for a while but I’m back in a 2024 Limited Mega Ram.. The Horn Honks aggravated me enough to figure it out this evening.. This is how to de program with Alpha Obd.. Took me a while to find it but I wasn’t giving up lol… It’s so peaceful to get out with that off…

Ram Truck 3 Horn Honk Alert Deprogrammed with AlphaOBD
Thank you for posting this! This honk was one of my biggest annoyances with the truck.

Found out today after setting to eliminate the Honking it also doesn't Chime when Driving without the Seatbelt Buckled. Double Bonus!

Any idea if JScan has this ability?
Maybe. Go to modules > body controller> configuration > search “csm3” and see if that setting is in the list.

Just a general side note about JScan- anytime you want to search an equivalent alfaobd setting in JScan, don’t use adaptations, use the configuration search in the body controller. The names of the settings are generally the same.

Thank you for the reply. It's not in JScan's Demo mode. I will get the real thing going in the morning. If it's not, I have a windows laptop laying around that my wife's trying to get S Mode removed to install programs from the web. Whatever S Mode is lol.
