I have been gone for a while but I’m back in a 2024 Limited Mega Ram.. The Horn Honks aggravated me enough to figure it out this evening.. This is how to de program with Alpha Obd.. Took me a while to find it but I wasn’t giving up lol… It’s so peaceful to get out with that off…

Hmmm…I’ve found that setting about 2 years ago, and it never did anything, I have it set to no right now (it’s actually automatically set to no on 2022’s). Unless it’s only working on 2024’s.

I just checked this setting on our 2019 1500 that has a 2023 bcm in it (which made it inherit the 3 horn honk), and it works. But it doesn’t work for me on my 2500 with a 2023 bcm installed in it.
@jsalbre, did I ever have you try this setting back when we were figuring out the blinker camera issue? I know that was back when the setting names weren’t available in alfaobd yet, and we were messing with the raw hex in the backup file. Just can’t remember if I had you change it or if it worked for you?

@Jimmy We never tested this on my truck. I remember we tested a few bits that we weren’t certain what they were for, but we were looking for the rear seat seatbelt reminder at the time, not the honking. It’s possible we disabled it at one point and never even knew. I actually hadn’t seen this specific option in AlfaOBD before. When I first got the truck I did a dump and put everything into a spreadsheet so I never noticed that some new items had been added.

I just tried it and holy hell it worked!

Thanks @Rockman.

No prob!! Thanks for watching!!

Does this only work on 23-24's? I have mine bypassed on my '22 but if I can make the change with alfa it would be great.

Should be the same setting on the 22 but I don’t have one to test.

This finally pushed me over the edge to buy AlphaODB. It would be worth it for this one feature alone but I'm sure I will configure some other things too. Now if we could just figure out how to allow the forward facing mirror lights to stay on while moving.

Or remove the auto unfold ‘feature’ for the mirrors once you hit 10 MPH.

If someone can copy/paste the line from AlfaOBD for me, I can add it to the sticky on known settings for 23-24 trucks.
You also need the latest version of AflaOBD, 2.5.5, I had 2.5.0 and the menu option was available.

Was this because the menu was not present or it was present and just didn't work?

What version of AlfaOBD do you have?
It’s because that setting didn’t exist when they created the 2022 bcm firmware. In the Chrysler Diagnostic Engineering Software it is just a reserved setting. I can use alfaobd to force that setting to be set to yes, but when I put a CAN logger on the bus, it doesn’t broadcast, it’s still just sending zeros for that setting bit.
