How many miles on your 4.5 gen diesel??

Not that I know of. I don’t have any other way to monitor it other than the DPF gauge. I’ve never seen the gauge come off of zero until just recently. Have been towing a very light trailer doing some chores around the house. Usually towing my boat or 5er. Not my daily driver. Anyway it went in to regen and cleared the DPF gauge in less than 30 minutes.

That could have just been a timed 24hr regen. I would run a tank with the 6400d just to clean everything up.
It sounds like you are working the truck as it’s intended to be but the 6400d does a thorough job of cleaning the injection system as well as the DPF. Must be some good fuel where you are getting it.

If no regen issues, use AR6500 in every tank. Read label for dosing.
I use both. The 6400 about every 6k miles and the 6500 every tank but when towing. Towing it doesn’t have to have it with the truck keeping the EGT’s up high enough to keep the DPF cleaned out on its own.

I run it in every tank regardless of what me or the truck is doing. There are benefits to the additives besides DPF cleaning, such as cetane boost and injector cleaning/lubrication. EVERY tank gets 6500, and if I ever have an issue with the DPF starting to fill up that a regular regen cycle can't clean as designed, then I'll run a tank with 6400.

So are you truckless now? What are you planning to replace your 22 with? Why did you sell it?

Damn I'm nosey.

2024 3500 HO Cummins Megacab 4x4 Laramie. Bought it 9-24, 4100 miles. Only really used for towing 35' toy hauler trailer full of sleds or dirtbikes. So far, everything has been pretty much perfect. (Other than I need to get rid of those stupid Transforce pizza cutter tires)

'21 3500 Laramie crew cab SRW 4x4 standard Cummins. 58K miles with zero issues. Have a '25 Laramie DRW on order

24 3500 Long box, tradesman reg cab. Bought Feb 6, 2025 and have a whopping 847 mi on it.

I agree with you about the Transforce tires, but I have a little over 21K miles on mine and they still have 9-10/32nds tread depth and wearing evenly. I would like to change them but I just can’t throw tires away that are still serviceable.

I couldn't stand those tires and replaced them with Falken Wildpeak AT/3 at 10K on the odometer, stopped by a used tire place on the way home from Americas Tire and sold them for $60 each. Good riddance.

2023 2500. 53xxx miles. I bought it 5/31/23. The damn steering wheel controls going out has been one of the most annoying issues I have ever had on a vehicle. Ram can't fix it, they seem to be willing to keep trying but at this point they are replacing items they have already replaced during previous repair attempts. Other than that, love the truck.
