High mileage 5.9 swap

In need of a project. Just though I’d reach out to some of you smarter folks and get some opinions. I’m thinking of shooting for a 3rd gen with a ton of miles and just swapping out the engine. Figure it’s better than blowing near 20k for one with 200,000, and I’ll know I got a zero miles pre-emissions Cummins that will outlast me. Any thoughts?

The only advice I can offer is to check out a recent thread on cummins forum regarding a rebuild that's using 03 pistons, injectors, and PCM/tunes in an 04.5+ engine. some sound advice in there if you're looking to build or buy a long block that you're going to make power with.
