Hi Everyone,

First off, I want to thank this community. There is a wealth of information here, and I’ve learned a ton already. That said, with so many threads spanning multiple model years, it’s been difficult to track down what specifically applies to the 2024 RAM HD trucks. My goal here is to consolidate what I’ve researched so far and to ask for help filling in the gaps — both for my own install and hopefully for others attempting the same retrofit.

I’m maintaining this guide as a document, but I also hope to make a YouTube walkthrough once I start the install. Collaboration is welcome!

My Truck Configuration
  • 2024 RAM 2500 Limited 6.7 Mega Cab
  • Limited Level 1 Equipment Group
  • Tow Technology Plus Group
  • Fifth Wheel/Gooseneck Prep Group
  • Factory 7-pin and 12-pin connectors (bumper and in-bed)
  • Digital Rearview Mirror (DRVM)
  • Surround View Camera System (for the truck itself)
  • Wired Tow Mode coax connector (bumper → DRVM trailer camera feed)
    • Note that the Wired Tow Mode camera was not listed on the window sticker, but the coax connector was present on my truck at time of purchase
  • Not equipped with:
    • Trailer Surround View
    • Trailer Tire Pressure Monitoring System (TTPMS)
    • As a result, no softkeys for these Trailer Surround view or TTPMS features in Uconnect

Parts List (OEM Mopar)

Trailer Surround View Camera System

  • 82216421AE – Trailer 360 Camera Kit
  • 68509331AB – Trailer Surround View Gateway Module
  • 04896196AA – Gateway Module Bracket
  • 6504521 – Push Pins (x3)
Trailer TPMS
  • 68600218AA – Tire Pressure Sensor Kit
  • 68526635AB – Wireless Control Module Receiver
  • 68404893AB – TTPMS Gateway Module (TIM)
  • 68412666AA – Jumper Wiring
  • 6505411AA – Push Pins (x2)
  • 6509244AA – Side Trim Retainers (x2)
Programming Tools
  • Security Module Bypass (kaodtech.com)
  • OBD II Bluetooth Reader (AlfaOBD compatible) – Purchased from Weeknd Garage
  • AlfaOBD app (Android)

Recommendations Before Ordering
  • Inspect for hardware presence first:
    • TTPMS wireless module location (between bumper and spare tire)
    • Associated dummy connector
    • Gateway module and dummy connector behind passenger rear wall panel
    • TSVCS gateway behind kickplate (look for taped/tucked cables)
  • Use AlfaOBD:
    • If the module exists, AlfaOBD will connect
    • If not, connection attempts will fail with communication error

What I’ve Verified So Far
  • TTPMS Wireless Module (68526635AB): Not installed under the truck
    • Did find the cable with dummy connector in the expected location
    • Reference: HDRams TTPMS thread
  • TTPMS Gateway/Interface Module (68404893AB): Not installed
    • Confirmed via AlfaOBD
    • Rear headliner: Not checked (cautious about pulling trim without proper instructions)
      • Hoping the dummy connector is present here
  • Trailer Surround View Gateway (68509331AB): Not installed
    • Confirmed via AlfaOBD
    • Verified that cables for this module are taped behind the kickplate/Uconnect display (per this thread)

My Questions for the Community
  1. TTPMS Gateway Location
    • Does anyone have detailed instructions or a video on safely removing the rear passenger wall panels in a 2024 RAM 2500 Mega Cab?
    • Is there always a dummy connector waiting there, or will I need to run a new harness?
    • Has anyone confirmed cases where the connector is missing?
  2. Alternative Mounting
    • If I avoid removing the rear wall panel, can the gateway be mounted near the wireless receiver under the truck?
    • If so, what extra hardware/wiring would be required?

References

Thanks in advance for any 2024-specific (or late model 5th gen) insights, wiring confirmation, or installation guides. I’d love to make this process easier not just for myself but for anyone else considering the retrofit.
