For those who have installed a bank's monster there is danger

I bought the monster from Bank for my two trucks, so far so good, but it didn't last.
I ride 90% of the time at night and in areas very far from any civilization in the woods. While I was driving I started to smell a strong smell of diesel entering the cab, I didn't understand where it was coming from, I first thought of the truck that had passed me but the smell persisted when all of a sudden in full acceleration in a hill a white smoke came out of the hood, I went out to see and I had diesel all over the engine, under the truck to the rear deck and even my trailer.

It was 2 a.m. in the woods, no phone signal and with bears and wolves around:ouch:, in short.

I first thought of a loose injector tube and since I have all the necessary tools and some truck spare parts because I am presbyopic I take my injector wrench and check.

All the injector tubes were tight, ****

so I checked my FASS fuel line to the pump to see if I had a hole somewhere, but first I cleaned all that diesel with a brake cleaner to get a better look.

I start the engine and I don't see any leaks anywhere.

Where does this diesel come from???

I get back in the truck and start driving again, the road is flat, no hill everything is fine when a hill comes and it is at 11% and 4 km.

And then it starts again, I see my gas gauge go down at first glance (I have a 65 gallon tank) diesel full of the windshield and white smoke, then I tell myself that it will burn in no time.

I stop with all my strobe on and look for that damn leak I can't seem to find.

and here I make the following links:

Flat the truck does not force so the pressure of the pump is low, but as soon as it forces the pressure increases in the pipes there is a leak.

So then I had the idea to put the truck in slow motion 2000 rpm and look under the hood to see what's going on... and surprise.

The line of the first injector that bypasses that of the bank is pierced (see photo).

A new part that is not supposed to be broken!!

I decide to drive the 80 km to the nearest town with my two fire extinguishers ready and stop at a Walmart and send a message to Bank's.

I would like to point out that I am 2000 km from home and that the part in question is not in Canada since it is Bank's that provides it.

But here we come to the questions:

my employees sleep in the trucks in winter and summer,

What will happen when the truck regenerates with the temperatures it gives off while you sleep in the truck???

fire, death of man, asphyxiation???

As a result, the bank sent me a new injector tube that I received within 3 days, delivered to a local garage and my truck got stuck with my customers' goods.

I have sent a letter to the bank with my intentions (a copy of which I am attaching).

I still haven't had a single answer from them and from the NHTSA, no apology or compensation for all the setbacks that could have cost me my life if I had decided to stop sleeping in short.

I removed all the Bank from my trucks and reassembled at the origin because unfortunately I no longer trust the Bank equipment and I would not want to put my employees or myself in danger.

So if this message can make some people think or avoid a tragedy, so much the better.

Because even with my new hit, there's no guarantee that it won't happen again, and especially when.

Your opinion?

Where that burst seems to be a manufacturing defect. I don’t see how a botched install can cause that leak. Seems like banks did their best to get you right back on the road at least.

I have seen plenty of OEM lines crack over the years on common rails it does happen so you cant directly blame banks. With any luck you wont have any issues with the replacement.

The ol #4 on the early CR’s were troublesome from the factory, an updated line/mount solved that.

I use to carry a spare for #4 just incase it failed in the middle of nowhere.

Same here! Never needed it of course but if I didn’t have it you know what would happen..

Man Karen.

Replace defective part and move on. Good Lord.
