Dealership caught unhooking dash cam, ridiculing owner, admitting there is a problem, but lying on paperwork, and possibly illegally changing miles

In most cases, a botched repair by one dealer will not be touched by another.

Getting FCA to approve it and the new dealer to accept it is wise.

Yeah and when I first talked to them they said I had to take it back to the original dealership or I'd be out of pocket for the repairs at the other dealership. The dash cam footage got them to approve me taking it somewhere else.

but they weren't sure
If you have alfaodb it might be worth looking through the log. There are all sorts of neat things I have no clue about like odometer location 0,1,2 and 3. Fy it looks to report like 11k on mine so no idea if thats just an alfa decimal error or not. I assume it is but have not pulled a recent log. There look to be some last programmed at flags in there too so maybe that could help.

I can confirm even the lord himself Jimmy says no the WiTech can not alter it. Although raptorHD may say differently :D

So if I read this correctly, even if the dealer did something shady to the evic miles display, the correct mileage would be in the computer. So probably another dealer could compare the two? Looking at the photo in post 38, that is about a 100 mile difference. And in post 32, @Possum says he thinks the dealer burned at least 100 miles of fuel. How did you read the engine status shown in post 38? They are looking very guilty I think given what you are piecing together.

I can burn that much diesel in a very short difference if i drive my truck the way they were driving his. The dealer cant change the millage they do not have the capabilities.

If correct, that is good to know. And looking at the @100 mile difference shown in post 38 again, it appears that it is off in the wrong direction anyway if the dealer rolled back the odometer. It is possibly unrelated to the dealer visit, but I am curious why the mileage difference between the evic and the computer readout?

It may be what ever he is trying to read it with is not able to read accurately especially since every one reading is different and atleast 3 of them should be all the same

Here's the entire log I downloaded. From what I understand, Odometer 0, 1, 2, & 3 are each wheel.

I see the time since last oil indicator reset was 586 minutes, or 9.8 hours. I changed the oil on June 20th at 34,707 miles. When I pulled this data off AlfaOBD, it had 35,170 miles on the cluster. So 463 miles over 9.8 hours = 47 mph average. That seems like a VERY high average speed doesn't it? Especially considering it was supposed to be at a shop most of that time and should have spent a lot of time idling. And I'm not near an interstate so I rarely drive it at higher speeds.

Here's the entire log I downloaded. From what I understand, Odometer 0, 1, 2, & 3 are each wheel.

Thanks! Any chance of putting into a PDF in a post so we can download it. I am curious to really look at all that information the truck provides.

This is just the engine module status log. There is one for the body computer too.

I'm very curious - @Possum , who was the dealer that started this fiasco? And do you have final resolution on your issues?

It is Lewis Ram in Fayetteville, Arkansas.

They stopped responding to me. My dash is still damaged and my floor still has holes in it. I tried to get Chrysler to let another dealership fix the damage but they wouldn't do it. Only Lewis can fix it and they won't respond. I've been too busy to deal with it.

My truck still pops when I go through a dip. There are still 2 body mounts that were never replaced. I noticed my cab was about 3/4" higher on the driver's side after it got back from the other dealership. I ended up figuring out why and fixed it myself. They put the driver's and passenger side shims both on the drivers side, and dind't put one on the passenger side. It still sits about 1/4" high but it's not nearly as noticeable.

I need to reach back out to them again and if he doesn't reply this time, go to the owner's mom who is friends with my aunt.

@RamCares

I have a situation and existing case # but I want to discuss these issues here.

My dash is busted and pieces are falling out, screws missing.

I have reason to believe they illegally modified my mileage before getting the truck back.

I have audio of them admitting the truck will not start properly but on the paperwork saying they couldn't duplicate.

I have audio of them disparaging me, the owner, calling me a "****ing retard" because I didn't want them to take my truck through some serious off-road articulation to replicate the body mount noise after driving with them 3 times in the past and fully diagnosing it. After doing all the rides and diagnosis they asked for, they said they needed to drive just like I did but with out me. It seemed like a waste of time. I clearly had reason to be suspicious as they unhooked my dash cam for much of the stay at the visit.

Dash cam was disconnected or files deleted after a few days at the dealer, and turned back on a day before picking it up.

In the first video after they reconnected it, there is audio of the tech reading off mileage and appears to be typing it into something, and then reading it off to confirm the mileage is correct before turning the truck back off. I have suspicion that they were illegally modifying the mileage. Is there any way to see if the mileage has ever been changed?

The AC still isn't fixed like they said it was.

There is a huge scratch on my grill that wasn't there before. Looks like a belt buckle caught it.

Many factory upgrades (like LED headlights, fog lights, etc) would not work because they disabled those features while they had my truck. I couldn't drive my truck the next night because the lights would not come on.

I have been to this dealership at least 5 times and it has been nothing has been fixed, only more damage has taken place.

I called corporate before reviewing the footage and they said I had to keep taking it back there. I will not take my truck back to this dealership.

This needs to be addressed very soon, or I will be taking the audio to a local reporter that has expressed interest in it

Is it possible they disconnected the battery to work on it and thats why your stuff turned off?
