The thumping noise that I noticed when idling after 140 miles of driving. Explained in an earlier post.
More boost at lower rpms is indicative of more fuel delivery which is required for higher boost numbers.
Your pressure numbers have an inverse effect on fuel usage, high boost low mpg's, low boost higher mpg's.
The truck is in "waiting for special tool" purgatory.
Dealer wants to remove lifters to ID problem that they find comes and goes. I'm of the impression that CP-3 fuel regulator failure causes the symptoms I'm having and the problem exposed itself after the recall.
There is Member on TDR that has the noise but I'm not a paying Member so can't ask about boost differences pre/post repair.
Questions::
Anyone here with a thumping sound from pump after recall?
Is there really a "special" tool to work on valve/lifter assembly?
