We just got ours backed in. Loved the campground, but it was a bit of offroading getting there. Truck towed the long hill better than expected going down, and went down it just fine. 3rd gear towhaul and it kept it below 40 mph (posted speed limit) going down. I didn't back up traffic and lost the chevy 1500 that was behind me for quite sometime. He caught up two stop lights later.

Really do not like the 2 to 1 shift, and it doesnt seem to like to just lug in first or second.

Camping was beautifuk. Creek was low when we got there, lots of hiking. Kids learned alot about water life (frogs, minnows, crayfish, trout)

We had one storm this morning from 345 to about 740. The creek rose some, and the kids enjoyed playing in it while we packed up.

Coming home, we hit the steep side slower than I hoped, truck had to stay in first gear, I ran it at 4200rpm and just let it climb. Wife thought something was wrong (first time she seen it rev) and when the fan kicked on I thought she was going to cry. Has to explain the Hemi again to her.

Great weekend. Can not wait to go again.

This would fit well into my new interests.

Love seeing what Mopar comes up with, just wish they would take the stuff to market, instead of leaving us hanging.

Picked up my new camper last weekend and stayed on the gulf coast. It rained the whole time so now pics, but pulled the truck home 400 miles averaged 9mpg but had a horrible headwind. Looking forward to taking it on another trip in a few weeks.

Was at Kettle Creek State Park this weekend was wondering if I would run into you haha, I saw your posts that you normally camp out there. Love this time of year to camp.
We didn't get out camping this weekend. I had planned to go to ole bull this weekend coming, but our daughter in college requests our services.

I actually have never been to Kettle Creek, but it is on the list.

Hoping to get out atleast one more time...but the weather is changing fast.

Awesome to know there is members in the local area though. Thanks for the info...will keep an eye out.

Sorry I meant the weekend you went, Columbus Day weekend. But yea its a great area may be a little tough for a huge trailer in some camp spots but Ive seen them up there. Very nice and its right in the state forest land so lots of hiking wildlife and water activities on the lake. Im from Northeastern, PA but know the area out there pretty well! Great place in the WILDs.

DevilDodge, Don't forget that you can "camp" at home. We have a septic system and I tie into a vent pipe with the black drain, run power from the house and water from the house. We rake back limestone and do a fire in the driveway and watch the Steelers game outside by a fire! It lets me get more camper use and more beer drinking by the fire time than what our schedules can afford us.

We stopped using water after I winterized in November, but we can still have fires and run the outside TV while using the outdoor fridge/grill for games. It's kind of fun!

My challenge is that my weekends are Friday to Sunday and my wife is Thursday and Friday. It sucks, but she works retail 5 days a week and always on weekends. I work 4 day weeks with 3 day weekends. This forces us to plan our "trips" very local to where she works so that she can commute to work and back on Sat/Sun.

Starting to get the itch to go Camping.

April 10th is opening weekend for our closest state park.

I really would like to go now, thinking about February, but may have to wait until March.

We have a few parks open all year, and I really have to refrain from going. If it wouldn't be for the constant threat of ice...I would do it all winter here.

Still making a plan for off pavement travel/dispersed camping in Bald Eagle State Forest. Got to get my Purple Lizard map and pick a date with the Forest Service.

I think we will go with only what we need, absolute minimum and make a list of what we could use, then minimize that.

Hope to have a setup we can grab and go right to the woods and site for the night.

So anxious to go.

Getting ready to head out for our 2nd trip of the season (should be about the 5th trip)

We went last weekend, was glad to sit around the campfire.20200523_212447.jpg

Weighed my set up. We got plenty of room to expand. This was empty tanks and a huge cleanout of the stuff we dont use.

And it is sitting outside of work waiting 40 more minutes til I can head home and hitch the camper

We finally got out camping for 3 nights. First time with the 2500. Truck handled the camper no problem 378 kms round trip. Only down fall was I had the low fuel light go on a few kms from home. I put in 98L for the 378kms so I had a bit of gas left. I han 70 gallons of water in the camper tanks, in the truck bed I had a Honda 2000 genny, 5 gallons of gas, 15 gallons of water and a chain saw.
Our camping style is a bit different up in the Arctic as we boondock and don't like campgrounds too much so gravel pits it is. Here's a a bit of wood that I had to cut in a forest fire burn area. That truck load is for one night which takes maybe 30 mins to cut. I had to get this much each day, I just cut the logs 3-4 ft long and burn them that way. Don't need the fire for light or heat as it's daylight all the time so it's just for looking at and cook meals on. Nothing like a wood fire to cook on.
Can't wait to get out there again next week.

I'm looking for some advice for a decent outdoor fridge in NY like on this article https://refrigeratorfaq.com/outdoor-refrigerator/.

My main issue is that im limited to 70cm in length and 60cm width, I need a taller fridge and large enough for two people. Preferably 60L and above.

If anyone has any suggestions that would be great.
