Hey guys

Need a favor please. Can someone with a 4.5 gen with dual alts take pics of the passenger side battery connections please? Connectons to the alt and anything it's connected to. Admin sent me a wire diagram already but i to see it realtime.
I have a electrical gremlin after my 2G turbo swap and battery relocation. My battery light comes on randomly at 14v but goes away after a restart. Connections are all tight, batteries replaced, ibs replaced, fuses and grounds are good. But I don't see a crossover cable between batteries and think that maybe the problem? I didn't do the relocation cause electrical is not my thing.

Here you go

Many thanks! Looks like my buss bar was eliminated...not sure if that's a bad thing..I still have the grid relay inline and alt going to the new battery relocation for charging..but verified i am missing that crossover.
Anyone know if thst would cause the battery light to go off?
My handicap mods take quite a bit of power and are always on hot...not keyed power and seem to be pulling all power from the driver side battery.
Perhaps the IBS is sensing too much of a draw since no crossover?

do you know the sizes of those 2 mega fuses? From that picture, I assuming the red shrink tube one is the cross-over, the 2 others, (Alt and the grid relay)? I cant find my old buss-bar and dont know why he removed it...btw, pressure wash that bay ;)

You didn't tell me you had replaced the IBS. The IBS will not light the battery light. A defective IBS will set an IBS specific DTC.

Did you follow the calibration in one of these doc?:

The removal of that crossover has pooched your dual alt setup and rendered it 2 singles, and I expect the IBS isn't seeing the charge rate the BCM is telling it to expect.

You should bitch slap your installer.

Ah..nice..I didn't get specific DTC codes as mentioned in that document. The battery light is totally random. I can see the charge kick on up to 14.2..then just jump all over the place...13.2 upto 14.2..but setoff totally random. As I dug deeper into it. Noticed there was only one cable from the alternator straight to the relocation. Hah. My installer was a friend who only works on gassers and not diesels...fool didn't tell me he left off the crossover.

I didn't know about calibration of the new IBS. But there was enough "sleep time" for the 8 hour cycle it needed from the document...so no DTC's. ..yet.....now just got to make a 1/0 crossover cable now and see if it clears it up..
The max charge i would see on the batteries after a cycle. (Truck off) is 12.7v...and figured it wasn't charging enough.
