This is the one item I despise on my ram. Is there any way to adjust the back up sensors to not beep and nuts with only a trailer hitch on?

That’s insane that there’s no way to do something about this unless you remove the sensors

Its not removing the sensors its blocking them. I have my sensors off as I usually have a drop hitch. Its a poor design yes but in Rams defence its actually not legal in a lot of places to have a hitch in the receiver when not towing.

It seems to be hit or miss on people that have this issue. Of course the hitch you use plays a part in it but there are people with the same drop hitch and one has the issue and the other doesn't. Personally my truck has no issue with my weigh safe adjustable drop hitch installed.

I wonder if some of the sensors are more angled inwards on some trucks than others.

Would removing them and clocking them say 90/180 degrees in the mount would help?

I also wonder if the lower mounting location vs higher in the bumper like the 4th gen (2018 older) have is less likely to sense the hitch. I now they are less likely to get torn off being in the bumper.

They also rust out the bumper much faster
