I have a 2024 tradesman crew cab. Me and my family are planing a trip and want to take the dog (89lb german shepard) but having a hard time finding a half back seat for dogs that will work so we can utilize the middle and right side seat. Anyone have any suggestions on what they use to keep there dog to just one side safely so we you can use the middle and either left or right side of your back seats?

I’m unclear: do you have the single piece rear bench ? You can upgrade to the 60/40 split rear bench which will do what you describe (flip center and pass side up, leave drivers side in “seat” mode). Do you have the folding flat load floor? If not you will want that if you upgrade to the 60/40 seat as well, which provides a solid platform over the whole rear (or 60/40) for the dog/gear/etc

The back of my seats do not fold down and the left and middle fold up together and right side folds up single. Is that the 60 40 split?

Yes you have 60/40 split, sounds like you just need the fold-flat load floor

Correction I don't have the 60 40 split. The whole bench seats only lifts up. I was confusing my jeep gladiator with my ram 2500

I have 3 dogs, 2 being cane corso's. 1 black mouth ker or how ever its spelled. I removed my back seats and used the fold down thing that i stole from my last truck and installed it in the new truck. then got 1 inch gym mat and laid it down on top level and i place their dog beds in there when we travel.

I use a weather tech back seat cover in my Bighorn with the fold flat floor for my Lab (75 pound) and Golden Retriever (95 pound). When I've needed to use one side for a passenger it can work, but I don't have a barrier. Also quite handy is the Weathertech ramp. I can rest it on my sidestep and still open and close the door. Dogs love it and keeps things from getting all scratched up.

I would like to utilize the middle seat to.

I was about to start a thread on this so very timely here. I have an 80lb shepherd mix. He goes everywhere with me. I also have a 1 year old (baby seat for a few more years) and a wife that likes to sit in the back with our baby.

Can I get away with a regular crew cab? The single seat load floor seems way too small for me boy. I think a megacab is my only way to fly as its longer with the seat folded down. I'm hamstrung a bit because 2024 megas are in short supply but I'm trying to snake a deal. Looking for a mega specifically has limited my options and I wanted to make sure the mega is a necessity before committing to a color I might not love. Thanks!

I can’t say for sure, since i only have experience with a “regular” crew cab and don’t have any kids; but the load flat floor gave my 75lb Malinois plenty of space. Previously had a Chevy Colorado crew cab (closer to a Quad cab 1500 in back seat space), it was a bit cramped until i deleted the rear seat entirely and did a custom platform…needed a seat hammock before that.
I think the back seats in general are pretty spacious; not as big as the new 1500 cabs/the current Chevy or Ford rear seats, but honestly it’s plenty big.

That said, trying to fit an adult, a car seat, and a dog back there might be cozy, MegaCab or Crew Cab. Depends a bit how mellow the dog is on car rides i think (ie, moving around a bunch, wanting to stick nose out the window, etc)
