I am new to diesel trucks and bought a 2024 Ram Rebel 2500 with the 6.7. It currently has 4,000 miles and I have noticed that I have any oily substance that builds up and drips down onto the mud flap on the exhaust side. I will wipe it off and it will come back within a day or two. Is this normal for the 6.7 or is it something I should be concerned about?

Does the inside of the tire have oil on it? The only places you could get an oil leak in that area would be a hub seal leak, or a brake fluid leak.

That was my initial thought as well, but the inside of the wheel/tire are clean as well as the inside of the wheel well. It is only oily on the inside of the rear fender area. Could it be coming from the exhaust?

Doubt it. Neither of my 6.7's had any oil out the exhaust. If you have Ramboxes, you might have something spilled/leaking from there. The drain hole is in that area.

Just a shot in the dark but any chance your tailgate gas strut might be leaking? I think they have oil in them and it is located in front of the tail light on that side. I don't see the exhaust having anything to do with it.
You might be on to something! I have noticed that the tailgate is opening a lot quicker than it used to and slams a little when it gets to the bottom. I will check that out!
