I have a 2021 Ram 3500 DRW with the high output 6.7 and last week it developed a serious running issue that I am thinking is the PCM. It is like someone flips a light switch and it loses all boost and power and the gas pedal will be unresponsive. It then morphed into the transmission going crazy to the point you can't even drive it. The air suspension light and warning also falshes and goes on and off every couple of seconds. First dealer just erased the code and sent me on my way and blamed my Garmin ELD device. That has not been plugged in again since and it happened again. My experience with dealers is if it doesn't tell them exactly what to fix they don't have a clue what to do. This is my business truck and I invested a lot of money to be able to haul and now have no idea when it will be fixed. Anyone on here had a similar issue before and what was it? 20210731_100827.jpg

I had 2120 that the ECM went weird at 175 miles and the truck threw a lot of codes. It took 5 weeks to get a new one.

They put a new throttle position sensor in it and think it's fixed. Just picked it back up today so hopefully they are right. The problem would come and go so sometimes it would go a whole day with no issue and then the next day you couldn't even drive it

It is back in the shop again for the same issue. They told me it was fixed, didn't even make it 5 miles and had to bring it back.

Sarah,

Your specialist have done absolutely nothing for me in fact all they do is waste more time. I have asked multiple times to speak with someone who can actually make a decision or has power to do anything other than answer a phone and give you the run around about how they cant get anyone higher up on the phone and they have escalated my case and the dealer will be contacted only to find out that nobody has contacted the dealer whatsoever. THIS IS A SAFETY ISSUE AND YOUR COMPANY COULD CARE LESS ABOUT IT!!! I am now at 7000 miles and the truck has been in for the same issue 6 times, 5 times to the same dealer. I have had the owner of the dealership and the a tech ride in the truck while it is acting up and tell me how unsafe the vehicle is to be on the road. Two days later they send me on my way again after doing absolutely nothing to even attempt to fix the truck. It has acted up now while two of their techs have driven it and I just picked it up again tonight and I will guarantee it will do the exact same thing again tomorrow morning like it has the other 4 times I have picked it up from them after they did nothing and told me it wouldn't act up again. I have been a loyal FCA customer for the last 14 years but I can assure you with the way I have been treated with this truck and the amount of money I am loosing for my business every week I will never buy another one of your vehicles again. I have worked for companies that supply Chrysler engine and transmission plants and I can assure you if I had supplied something that caused a safety issue I would have been in non stop meetings for weeks and been threatened with all kinds of fines and downtime charges so why is it that you expect the exact opposite treatment you offer your customers???

I have included the list below of the FCA Products I have owned since 2009

2009 Dodge Charger RT AWD - Fully Loaded - Purchased Brand New

It honestly sounds like a grounding issue
I wouldn't be surprised they found multiple issues with ground faults and improperly installed wire harnesses with my air suspension and also had to recharge the nitrogen. I will add they only looked into it after they blamed me and tried to say I overloaded the truck. Luckily I was able to throw it back in their face with video from one of the previous times in the shop before a trailer was even hooked up with the same exact warning.

This is a 5v low code now which according to the tech and The service manual there are three things the dealer should have been checking when it is acting up 1. Throttle position sensor 2. Sensors for the def and exhaust 3. PCM. Instead they stopped at the throttle position sensor and sent me on my way.

I can't even explain how scary it is to drive this truck when it is acting up. You have no idea when it's going to leave you sitting in the center of an intersection. It can take up to 30 seconds to get the truck to move again. I also have flat spots in my brand new tires from it locking up the tires. It goes from dead pedal to dead pedal and the transmission dumping in and out of gear very violently like put you into the dash violent. Mind you the owner of the dealership, and two different techs have driven the truck while this is happening. Literally could go around the block the dealership is on, two days later didn't find anything come pick it up.

The first time this started I had my 3 year old, 6 year old and Wife all in the truck with me. I went straight to the dealer and they told me nothing they could do for me and tried to send me on my way. I demanded the owner ride in the truck with me since their service guy didn't think it warranted any attention. He was scared to go around a city block in it with no traffic at 25mph. Yet here I am weeks later and they just keep sending me on my way.

If you have all that data and it screws up again I would sue them under Lemon Laws or give you another truck .
